The A Thing series is a lot to read, and the beginning is BAD. In April of 2020, I rewrote and condensed the important and funny parts of the bad ones (and just okay ones) into a new series, so that all will remain to read to understand the whole continuity is GOOD STORIES

Here is the recommended reading order, broken into categories:
first year is the year it takes place
second year is the year it was released

every Thing takes place in September, unless otherwise noted

IN RECOMMENDED READING ORDER:

MEMORIES OF A THING:
Memories of A Thing (2013) (2020)

Memories of Anything and Everything (2016) (2020)
Memories of One Thing Leads to Another (2013 - December) (2020)

OUTDATED:

Anything (2007) AND Everything (2016) (2016)
the pre-golden era
One Thing Leads to Another (2013 - December) (2016)
One of Those Things (2017) (2016)

IN TIMELINE ORDER:
Spoiler:

Being from the pre-modern era, I may not have had to rewrite One Thing Leads to Another or One of Those Things. However, OoTT had one defining moment in it that I felt needed to be redacted. I've regretted the ending of OTLtA basically since it's been posted.
While the rest of the pre-modern era, It's Just One Thing After Another and Everything's Going to be All Right, feature concepts and characters I jettisoned in the modern era, I looked over them, and saw that, honestly, they're still really good. The pre-modern elements are used sparingly, and don't get in the way. A "Memories of It's Just One Thing After Another" would be basically just It's Just One Thing After Another wholesale.
Finally, the ending of Too Much of a Good Thing is simply godawful and I regret it completely

the five-part miniseries starting with A Hallowed Thing and ending with A Beloved Thing was originally supposed to be eight parts, but I downsized when I realised that they were starting to get redundant
five is fine

REJECTED MOMENTS THAT ARE STILL GOOD
For a while now, I have projected a completely chaste narrative, with zero sexual content. However, sometimes jokes come to mind that won't work within the context of the series for this reason. The following are missions deemed TOO SEXUAL to make canon, but are still good.

Memories of The Next Big Thing:

Memories of One of Those Things:

fresh off the presses, 21 Mar 2020:

BONUS NEW JOKE ON A MISSION FROM TOO MUCH OF A GOOD THING:
08 Dec 2020:

MISSION DATES FOR THINGS THAT DON'T DESERVE THEIR OWN FAQ:
A Thing of the Past Demoness War:
A Thing of the Past Middle Ages:
Goddess Things:
Another Christmas Thing:
