25 Jan 2013: "Just a Game" by Triumph
Revisiting Vinyl guy totally said this was super-great. He was right.
Really, this is the best album I've listened to all year. That really isn't saying much, but there you go.
Shame Hold On is ruined by backing vocals

26 Jan 2013: "One of These Nights" by Eagles
Imagine an album that is really boring.
That is this album.

27 Jan 2013: "Escape" by Journey
This album opens with Don't Stop Believin'. It's like they knew. Or had any sense at all. Either way, if Don't Stop Believin' didn't open the album, Journey and I would have to have WORDS
Of course, this album could totally get away with not having Don't Stop Believin'. The rest of the album is amazing, also. Best album I've reviewed all year?! Fucking yes.
It's so far and above what I've been reviewing this year that I really want to give it a 5/5. And I fucking will.
I even forgive them for writing "Escape" as "E5C4P3". But only because it was the '80s.

28 Jan 2013: "White Light/White Heat" by The Velvet Underground
The Velvet Underground have three albums on the /mu/ essentials list. This is just one behind Radiohead.
This album is really, really boring. TRACK FIVE is okay, though.

29 Jan 2013: "Day and Age" by The Killers
This is totally their best album. Nice job.

30 Jan 2013: "Animal Magnetism" by Scorpions
Imagine an album that is REALLY FUCKING BORING
That is this album.

31 Jan 2013: "If Not Now, When?" by Incubus
Incubus decide to slow it down a bit. This was not a good decision.
Basically, Incubus albums are generally pretty good, but this one is just okay.

01 Feb 2013: "4-by The Beatles" by The Beatles
These four songs are all taken from Beatles for Sale. However, none of these are anywhere near the best songs on that album. I real "HEY YOU DON'T HAVE TO BUY BEATLES FOR SALE GUYS" would look like

02 Feb 2013: "H2O" by Hall and Oates
BAD POP ALBUMS ARE FUN
obnoxious backing vocals?! my favourite!!!

03 Feb 2013: "Seventh Star" by Black Sabbath
Seventh Star is the first (and last) Black Sabbath album to feature Glenn Hughes.
Just like with Deep Purple, Glenn Hughes' output outclasses Ian Gillan's. NICE WORK

04 Feb 2013: "Frances the Mute" by The Mars Volta
This album starts with Vismund Cygnus, which is like dude woah Shame it goes on for too long not-doing dude woah things.
This album, in a nutshell:
Take a great idea for a song, then put stupid shit into it to make it horrible.
Nice work.

05 Feb 2013: "Oracular Spectacular" by MGMT
TAKING CHANCES
Unfortunately, MGMT guy can't sing half the time, and the other half the music behind him is LOUD AND OBNOXIOUS

06 Feb 2013: "Clouds Taste Metallic" by The Flaming Lips
Every time I want to type "Clouds Taste Metallic", I end up typing "Clouds Taste Metallica".
The Flaming Lips have always been a band I've wanted to like more than I do. This album changes nothing.

08 Feb 2013: "Meat is Murder" by The Smiths
So, like everyone else says, aside from the title track, this album is pretty great.

09 Feb 2013: "Infinity" by Journey
Unfortunately, the only thing this album really has going for it is Wheel in the Sky.

10 Feb 2013: "Perfect Strangers" by Deep Purple
Gillan and the band reunite for fun times?
Knocking at Your Back Door opens the album with the band's take on cheesy '80s hard rock, then play it for seven minutes. Nice job, guys.
This album doesn't really pick up until the end, but it's pretty worth it.
The last (and best) song on the album, Hungry Daze, even manages to reference Smoke on the Water a bunch and make it work.
Honestly, the last three songs are among the best Gillan did with the band. The bonus track is also great.
This is the seventh Deep Purple album I've rated a 3.5, out of twelve.

11 Feb 2013: "The Serpent is Rising" by Styx
The band themselves hate this album. I am PUMPED
I guess they're right.

12 Feb 2013: "Conventional Weapons" by My Chemical Romance
So, My Chemical Romance released five singles over the course of the last couple months. This album takes all ten songs and puts them in one package.
The good news is that it's better than Danger Days. The bad news is that that's not really saying much.

13 Feb 2013: "Dead Sara" by Dead Sara
So, in last year's Need for Speed: Most Wanted, there was this song about weathermen.
This album is actually much better than I thought it would be, even if nothing's as great as Weatherman.

14 Feb 2013: "Tunnel of Love" by Bruce Springsteen
This was totally unintentional.
Unfortunately, this album is pretty mediocre. I guess I can't say it's unexpected.

15 Feb 2013: "Magica" by Dio
The turn of the century was not kind to Dio.
In this album, Dio decides to create the most pretentious (non-Tool) album ever. Nice job.
