| first, there's the V theory: grand theft auto fiVe characters: ducky lance Vance Vic Vance pete Vance maurice chaVez tommy Vercetti salVatore leone donald loVe loVe fist aVery carrington steVe scott big smoke (melVin harris) cesar Vialpando big deVil little deVil Vincenzo cilli miles o'donoVan gioVanni casa locations: las Venturas Vice city Second is the "all things considered" theory: In GTA III, Ray Machowski hopped on a plane to Vice City, and sent you a pager message saying "see you in Vice City". There was also a billboard to this effect. The next game was Vice City. In Vice City, BJ Smith played for the Vice City handegg team. His most famous game, as stated in an interview, was against San Andreas. San Andreas was the next game. In San Andreas, you fucking WENT to Liberty City. The next game was GTA IV, set in Liberty City (or Liberty City Stories, depending on how you look at it). In The Ballad of Gay Tony, GTA IV's last expansion thing, Luis asks Tony about going to London. Gay Tony's like "nah", and suggests VEGAS. GTAV in San Andreas again. This also fits the dollar bill look of the logo. |

| Packie gets on a plane during one of the DLC packs, which could be going to Ireland. This fits with the green in the logo.
In TBOGT, there is an advertisement on a billboard in Star Junction that gives a hint of where the franchise is headed for next. The ad states "Liberty City, it's Over!", to indicate that the GTA IV Era has ended. At the bottom right corner, it says "Next Stop." and a torn away picture.
Banks will play a part. Fits with the money-like logo, and some supposed email addresses registered by Rockstar for GTA fiVe's in-game internet (CashForDeadDreams.com, SixFigureTemps.com, StopPayingYourMortgage.net, HammersteinFaust.com, and LifeInvader.com.)
It'll probably be in San Andreas though, set in 2012. A lot of the built-up area will be taken over by banks and stuff, and you have to fuck shit up and reclaim land from the-man. |

| Ray Liotta asks for more money, Rockstar doesn't want to work with him again. Michael Hollick asks for more money, Rockstar doesn't want to work with him again. Young Maylay doesn't ask for shit. http://twitter.com/#!/youngmaylay HEY GUYS HE'S RETWEETING ABOUT GTA V A LOT
In all honesty, my pants would never be dry again if GTA V starred CJ. |

| Grand Theft Auto V Trailer Coming on Wednesday
The next two stories revolve around Grand Theft Auto V which was recently announced. Rockstar will be releasing a trailer next Wednesday showing off the game. I would guess it will be much like the recent Max Payne 3 trailer and show us a bit about the game. The bigger question is whether it will have a release date attached to it like Max Payne 3 did or not. I’m betting on a Fall 2012 release, but they may hone it down even more than that.
Grand Theft Auto V to be Based in Los Angeles-like City, Multiple Playable Characters
This info comes from the only bright spot on Kotaku’s editorial lineup: Stephen Totilo. He blew the big news that Grand Theft Auto V will be based in a city like Los Angeles (maybe Los Santos like in San Andreas?) and will include multiple playable characters. This makes me very intrigued as there could be multiplayer or co-op opportunities in the game, right? I also wonder if for the first time we’ll be able to play as a female. We’ll find out at least a bit on Wednesday I’m guessing. I just want to say Totilo is truly a game journalist in the best sense of the word, can’t necessarily say the rest of his cohorts at Kotaku are.

| In the trailer, we see:
SET IN SAN ANDREAS Most of the trailer is Los Santos, but we see the desert!, and a nightclub, which I'd frame for San Fierro. There are also MOUNTAINS.
We see three people who look suspiciously like former protagonists. The man talking and seen on a balcony and in many other shots is presumably the main character. I'd bet on him being Tommy Vercetti. We see a reasonably average black man wearing a white wifebeater and jeans. YOU KNOW WHO ELSE WEARS THAT? CJ. FUCKING CJ ALSO, he shows up a few times, and a black man whose face is shaded in with a similar build is seen pounding in a post. MAYBE HE'S THE MAIN CHARACTER Also, Niko is seen as an unwashed hobo.
