| 07 Sep 2018: Looking Glass/"Subway Serenade" (1973) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2018/09/eat-fresh.html
finishing a discography (of just two albums but still)
the first track would be better without the chorus |

| 08 Sep 2018: Paul McCartney/"Egypt Station" (2018) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2018/09/card-games-ahoy.html
track six features some nice pussyfooting around the word "fuck" if you are too much of a pussy to say "fuck", don't write a song where the chorus has "fuck you" in it
this album was a HUGE disappointment after new |

this album begins with the filleriest of filler instrumentals the band needs someone else to write their songs; their ability at their instruments/vocals are fine |

while looking at yesterday's album on RYM, i saw a related thread that was basically "metal with vocals that aren't horrific" that lead me here and a few other places we might check out later
the second track has those cheesy anthrax gang vocals their cover of sonic reducer sucks |

| 01 Oct 2018: The Beatles/"Yellow Submarine" (1969) [revisited] http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2018/10/yellow-submarine-revisited.html
confession: i have never listened to this album in full i have never seen the movie, and have never listened to the score
the title track is still just nice (if i gave it a different rating on revolver, it's probably a mood/context thing) i get why only a northern song didn't make a proper album, but i'm glad it saw an official release here and didn't fall to the wayside like not guilty (and didn't get butchered on george's solo albums like not guilty)
all together now is the song i end up thinking about most on this album, so take that however you want hey bulldog was on my top eleven riffs list and it's one of the band's best songs
it's all too much is probably the worst actual song on the album; it's not great and it goes on for too long (but only because all you need is love is saved by paul's "SHE LOVES YOU YEAH YEAH YEAH" at the end)
i listened to one-and-a-half tracks of the film score and decided that i don't want to do that would have been a great EP but the B side exists (kind of like a less extreme version of Bowie's Low) |
