so like this is the album gregg was working on before he died but it doesn't really make me feel anything it's not a bad album at all, but it's just kind of there |

suicide day is definitely a top five a flock of seagulls song (along with i ran, space-age love song, standing in the doorway, and i guess telecommunication?) |

| 15 Sep 2017: The Jam/"Setting Sons" (1979) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2017/09/betting-buns.html
review numbering is weird because i skipped the two "single edit" bonus tracks
another "bonus tracks are better than most of the album" situation |

| 16 Sep 2017: Foo Fighters/"Concrete and Gold" (2017) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2017/09/its-got-to-be-better-than-sonic.html
sonic highways was a huge disappointment; so much so that i reviewed it twice, hoping the second time i'd like it more the lead single from this album wasn't very good so uh i have low hopes
what the fuck is this first track run is, of course, not good, as i have previously stated
this album has terrible volume balancing like, i et this this part is supposed to be quiet and subdued but I CAN'T FUCKING HEAR IT THEN IF I TURN THE VOLUME UP WHEN YOU START SCREAMING I GO DEAF
best song here is sunday rain, which is sung by taylor hawkins honestly at this point taylor hawkins is the best member of the band
i'm giving it a 2/5 would have been lower if not for sunday rain |

this sounds more like foreigner than bad company like, if i gave you this album unmarked and you listened to it you'd be like "oh nice foreigner album" |

| 20 Sep 2017: Styx/"Big Bang Theory" (2005) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2017/09/zimbabwe.html
an album of bad covers
i am the walrus doesn't work; lennon's voice is too distinct to really let covers of this one work also they gave it a BIG ROCK ENDING which is such a weird thing to do to that song
their cover of i can see for miles doesn't have that low-key anger that daltrey gives it so it's shit
their cover of can't find my way home is just plain BAD summer in the city does NOT work if the singer's voice isn't deep manic depression is way oversung
the only good cover here is their cover of styx's long nights they actually do something different with it and it's at least interesting
