| 12 Apr 2016: The Mars Volta/"The Bedlam in Goliath" (2008) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2016/04/julio-and-case-of-missing-bedlam-by.html
godawful vocals on this one increasing the pitch afterward just makes it sound like an edgier alvin and the chipmunks
terrible in the sort of way where they could have changed a few things and had a decent album the worst kind of terrible |

After being kicked out of KISS, Criss made this.
first half of the album is good last half not so much |

| i have a love/hate relationship with TMV, and especially on Bedlam in Goliath.
The song Goliath is one of my favorite songs of the 2000s.
Also, I'm pretty sure singerguy's voice is actually that high. Don't believe there's any pitch changing. |

13 Apr 2016: Thin Lizzy/"Shades of a Blue Orphanage" (1972) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2016/04/julio-and-case-of-missing-orphans-by.html
this album features the band's first and arguably biggest hit, whiskey in the jar
this is before they learned how to write good music |

| 13 Apr 2016: Stevie Wonder/"Hotter Than July" (1980) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2009/07/wonderment.html
a nice pleasant album nothing absolutely "WOW" but nothing overwrought and pretentious either master blaster is pretty nice
i like lately a lot i'd only ever heard it on american idol before now please don't judge me
this is the best stevie wonder album i've ever reviewed (the second half is better than the first) i'm glad i did this |

a classic album but in the end it's just another neil young album really
the album ends very strongly if you're into neil young but if you're not, it probably won't persuade you otherwise |

| 15 Apr 2016: Ace Frehley/"Origins Vol. 1" (2016) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2016/04/julio-and-case-of-missing-origins-by.html
this is a COVERS ALBUM
it begins with white room, which really gives you no reason to ever listen to it again the original is simply superior
street-fighting man has this lilt and cadence to the vocals that ace just can't pull off i actually wouldn't be surprised if only mick jagger could pull it off, to be honest
spanish castle magic does not work when you try to make it rock hard and without jimi's vocals, it might as well not even exist
fire and water features paul stanley on vocals and makes me wish he'd been on every track
ace comes so close on emerald to sounding like phil lynott that if he were still alive i'd have mistaken it for a "forty years later" sort of deal but sounding like the same band playing the same song forty years later isn't a good thing
wild thing is the epitome of a "whatever" song it exists there's nothing exciting about it
parasite shows why paul stanley was the lead singer of kiss and not ace
the story of this album: pointless covers |

demos from before the stone roses were good before they knew anything about music at all i guess
that said, there are some neat tracks here, and it is worth a listen if you are into this band it either gets better as it goes on or i just got used to it |

| 20 Apr 2016: Dr. Dre/"2001" (1999) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2009/06/smoke-weed-every-day.html
this is it the big one the BIGGEST one
everybody and their mother guests on this album snoop dogg, eminem, and xzibit are instantly recognisable by their voices everyone else i don't whatever
having xzibit and eminem on the same track is uh different really, when eminem isn't the main focus of a track, he just seems weird and out of place, but in a way that sort of makes sense, like they knew
as we all know, the next episode is the best song and even if it didn't have that ending, it would still probably be the best song in its genre no clue why it's in the middle of the album
ed-ucation is pretty funny because it's true housewife has some nice sugarhill gang references (rapper's delight is also one of the best songs in the genre, speaking as someone who doesn't tend to listen to this genre)
the album is fine most songs are just kind of there |

the first song of thin lizzy's first album begins with a pretentious vocal intro did not see that one coming
glad they eventually got better |

production here could be better everything kind of blends into the background nothing's loud or distinct
guy's higher notes sound pretty bad live |
