| 09 Aug 2015: Venue Five However, I have already reviewed all of the albums from venues six, seven, and eight (except that Rammstein album, but I only do albums in English), so: Albums I've already reviewed: Blink-182/"Take Off Your Pants and Jacket" (2001) Duran Duran/"Rio" (1982) Jimmy Eat World/"Bleed American" (2002) Motley Crue/"Shout at the Devil" (1983) Thin Lizzy/"Jailbreak" (1976) Weezer/"Pinkerton" (1996)
Billy Squier/"Don't Say No" (1981) Eagles of Death Metal/"Heart On" (2008) Nirvana/"Nevermind" (1991) Nirvana/"Live at Reading" (2009) Screaming Trees/"Sweet Oblivion" (1992) The Killers/"Sam's Town" (2006)
Public Enemy/"It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back" (1988) Sublime/"Sublime" (1996) Sunny Day Real Estate/"Diary" (1994) T.Rex/"Tanx" (1973) Vampire Weekend/"Vampire Weekend" (2008)
09 Aug 2015: Elliott Smith/"Figure Eight" (2000) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2015/08/julio-and-case-of-missing-beam-of-light.html
There is a song here called Somebody That I Used to Know, and here's the problem: Gotye made it impossible to listen to songs called Somebody That I Used to Know and not compare them to Gotye's. They're completely different songs, yes, and Smith's came first, yes, but I still find myself wishing I was listening to Gotye.
The last third of the album really brings the whole thing down. This would be a great album if it were around ten tracks. |

| 09 Aug 2015: Stevie Wonder/"Talking Book" (1972) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2015/08/julio-and-case-of-missing-writing.html
The first track is really, really cheesy. It's one of those male/female lead vocal shares where they sing back and forth about love. Those are incredibly difficult to pull off. Elton John and Kiki Dee managed it, but not many others do. This song idea was best executed by Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney, who inverted it outwards. The object of affection is a third party, rather than having both the participants loving eachother.
The second track definitely didn't need to be seven minutes long. It's really fucking annoying, too.
ONLY GOOD THING HERE IS SUPERSTITION |

| lol you are the sunshine of my life is great
in fact, my wife and I played it at our wedding
It's odd because the duet is only there for the first two lines of the song and it's by two rando session musicians, and then Stevie steals the whole rest of the song. It's become a jazz standard in its own right, gr8 tune |

| To be fair, the album's name is actually just Santana and fans added the III to it. So it's really like Chicago where all of their albums are just named Chicago.
I prefer the title "Man With Outstretched Arm" over Santana III |

As far as this band goes, I only really like Girl's Not Grey (Girls, Not Grey?). However, this album is undoubtedly the worst of the three of their albums I've listened to. It sounds similar on the surface, but there's no effort or care put into the songs, especially the vocals. You can tell that they just stopped giving a shit. |

Iggy Pop/"Lust for Life" (1977) Megadeth/"Countdown to Extinction" (1992) Rush/"Permanent Waves" (1980)
AS AN ADDENDUM TO MY LIST OF GUITAR HERO SONGS I'VE NEVER FINISHED: I never beat American Girl. It's just too ridiculous. I also don't think I finished that Jeff Beck song.
12 Aug 2015: Thrice/"The Illusion of Safety" (2002) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2015/08/julio-and-case-of-missing-three-of.html
The title of the first song about sums up what I'm feeling: Kill Me Quickly. It actually gets a lot better after that track, which is nice. |

no relation to beck
So, like, there's an instrumental cover here of She's a Woman. Pointless, really. For my money, She's a Woman completely relies on McCartney's vocals. Without those, what's the point, even? |

So here's something absolutely no one has ever heard before: The studio version of Do You Feel Like We Do?. Studio Frampton in general, really.
The line (and title) "I believe when I fall in love with you it will be forever" is just really bad. Why is it, like, the entire song?
The live Do You Feel Like We Do? is full of self-indulgent wankery. It's a horrible listening experience, and it baffles me how it got so famous. The studio Do You Feel Like We Do? is ACTUALLY FUCKING GOOD. Like, really fucking good. Great, even. All-caps ORGASMIC, even. Listening to this album has given me an incredibly strong hatred for the live Do You Feel Like We Do?, which has all but wiped the studio version out of existence. The studio version of this song should have been in SNAE rather than the live version. Fuck the live version. Just fuck it. |

| I do like the live DYFLWD, but mostly because of the organ solo and the fun audience interaction with the talk box solo. the actual song itself (basically the first 4 minutes and the last 4 minutes) is kind of lackluster.
Jeff Beck is weird. But if you like Rod Stewart, you should listen to jeff beck's album Beck-Ola. It's the heaviest rock music up until that point in music history, but with Rod on vocals and Nicky Hopkins on piano (aka the best pianoman) |

14 Aug 2015: The Rolling Stones/"Get Your Ya-Yas Out" (1970) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2010/09/wallet-fifty-eight-by-man-of-many.html
This album has an odd tracklisting, to say the least. A lot of hits from the '60s are left out (Let's Spend the Night Together, Paint it Black, Gimme Shelter, You Can't Always Get What You Want, etc.) in favour of songs that are just like what why did you even pick that
Jumpin' Jack Flash needs some heavier or crunchier guitars or something. It's never sounded right to me (aside from when David Cook die it, of course). What the fuck is this shit? This sounds NOTHING like Sympathy for the Devil. They absolutely BUTCHERED their own song. It sounds generic as fuck now. They sped it up, replaced the piano with guitar, and the entire fucking thing is unrecognisable aside from the lyrics.
Sound quality here isn't the best. Jagger is kind of buried. Another "legendary" live album that's actually really mediocre. There's absolutely no reason to listen to this over a studio album. And, seriously, FUCK this version of Sympathy for the Devil. |

"Literally who", you ask? TOM MORELLO, THAT'S WHO
The Oath is terrible. The main line, which is repeated for fucking ever, is "all right, motherfuckers; fight, motherfuckers". It's like, I get it, motherfucker.
The problem here is that the rapper he got to do the rapping and such is kind of bad at writing lyrics. He's not bad at actually rapping, but the lyrics get kind of painful. He really makes me miss de la Rocha and Cornell. Part of me kind of wishes Audioslave had stayed together instead of a RATM and Soundgarden reunion.
BUT HERE'S AN IDEA I JUST HAD
Super Big Big Show (big ticket seller, one time only until the next time it happens): 1: Pearl Jam 2: Temple of the Dog 3: Audioslave 4: Rage Against the Machine 5: Soundgarden
then everyone loves it and we get a fourth audioslave album
Matt Cameron might drop dead on-stage, though, which is my biggest concern. |

Imagine the band Interpol. Now imagine that they aren't complete and utter shit. You've got these guys.
However, Bullets is terrible. The endlessly repeated "YOU DON'T NEED THIS DISEASE" is absolutely terrible. It's a weak line, and the way the guy pronounces it is horrible. It took me a while to figure out what he was actually saying. |

Well, sure, both of the Frampton tracks in SNAE were from Comes Alive, but whatever. Studio Frampton is a pretty interesting beast to tackle after being so familiar with (and sick of) the live versions.
Show Me the Way shows us that there is, in fact, such a thing as too much talkbox. |

The problem is that the songs here are all poor and most of them last far too long. Not to mention that it's exactly the same as all the other bands you hear on the radio. It's a better album than This is War, but that's not really saying anything, is it? |
