I read that this is like a combination of Adore and their more rock-y songs, so I'm PUMPED
I love the beginning of this album. Unfortunately, after track five it dips a bit and never really recovers. It's still their best album, however.

Okay that's not fair. I do kind of like One Step Closer.
I love Crawling. It's just hilarious.
It's a shame that the album just kind of peters out after the hilarity of Crawling.
Of course, this was all before CH3ZD4R B3NN1NGT0N released his magnum opus, T3H UND3RW34R S0L0.

Ugh. With the release of Raditude, it was clear that Rivers just wanted attention. Hurley confirms that.
I hate Where's My Sex out of principle.
After docking this album half a point for the cover, we're at a 1/5.

BONUS REVIEW: "BBC Archives" by Iron Maiden

So, in 2002, Iron Maiden released a six-disk boxset. Over the next three days, I'll review it in groups of two. Each also has a standalone entry on RYM, so it's okay.
Tracks 1-4 are a show in 1979 with Paul Di'Anno. Next is the 1982 Reading Festival, which takes up the rest of the first disc.
The second disc starts with the 1980 Reading Festival, once again featuring Paul Di'Anno. After six tracks of that, it's the 1988 Monsters of Rock thing for eight tracks.
The song Iron Maiden is played in all of these shows, and appears four times here. I'm okay with this. Transylvania's on here thrice. Gee.
I still don't like Phantom of the Opera very much. It's pretty lame.
"from out of the yeah come on" Never change, Di'Anno.
I really like how Dickinson doesn't introduce the band on Moonchild. It's like Paul Di'Anno morphed into Bruce Dickinson between songs.
Dickinson sounds really hoarse on the second Hallowed be thy Name. It's kind of cool.

Aside from Radar Love, this is unremarkable as fuck.

So from what ice read this band seems to have doomed themselves to one hit wonder status with that song Radar Love... strange considering it's arguably the weakest track here.

This one is just one show from 1982. There's a good number of Di'Anno tracks here, so if you want to hear Dickinson singing Killers or Murders in the Rue Morgue, here's your chance.
Bruce Dickinson doesn't hit the high note at the beginning of Drifter. Thus he is the worst vocalist. Also, the guitars seem out of tune or something?
This is a better live album than Live After Death. Between this and BBC Sessions, Eddie's Archive looks to be the one-stop shop for live albums. The last part of the boxset isn't a live album. I'm looking forward

Opening with Nuclear Family was fairly smart. It was the only one of the singles I enjoyed.
Let Yourself Go just reminds me of a Joan Jett song. Bad Reputation, to be exact. Maybe it's the line "I don't give a damn anyway".
Kill the DJ is just awful. Don't even get me started.

Most annoying thing about this before I start: it has the b-side to the Women in Uniform single, but not Women in Uniform itself. Lame.
Reach Out is sung by Adrian Smith. He's actually pretty good.
Charlotte the Harlot '88 and Prowler '88 still sound really odd.
Since the second disc is mostly from the worst period of Iron Maiden (the 1990s), the compilation kind of trails off. Shame.
Hey, look! It's Blaze Bayley! Remember him?! I sure do! He's better here than on the actual albums.
At least the album ends with a nice live version of one of Iron Maiden's best songs, Wasted Years.

It's a shame that Warrant only ever released one song, because they had real potential as a band
Okay, let's be serious for a moment. Real talk.
This album is pretty good. However, after this, Warrant decided to become a shitty hard rock band. Sound familiar?

2012 ahoy
The first album was much better.
The second half of this album is much better than the first half, however.
And, as a bonus, it begins and ends with the two worst tracks.

i mean, there's NO point to that final song. and it's so incredibly long.

The first album hit me instantly and it has slowly declined in quality, i'm hoping this album has the opposite effect.

Okay, so, the last time I felt the way I feel about this album was Begin Here. I can't begin to describe how much I enjoy this.
However, I don't know if the audio issues are due to the person who uploaded mine being horrible or due to the producers being horrible. But I can't let this sit lower than a five. I just can't.
2012 finally has its album of the year. Sorry, Jack White. Try again later.

BONUS REVIEW: "Dream Evil" by Dio

The high points of this album aren't as good as Holy Diver's, but it's still a good album. The low points aren't as low, for one thing.
To be clear: if the best songs from Holy Diver and the best songs from Dream Evil were combined into one album, it would be one of the best ever.
Hell, you could par down Dio's first four albums into a single album and it wouldn't hurt me any.

Not to be confused with the similarly (but better)-titled "4-by The Beatles", this EP is mostly tracks from With The Beatles, with This Boy (the b-side to I Want to Hold Your Hand) breaking it up. Can't have four great songs on one EP. No sir.

The worst live album I ever had in my life; displaying the worst clichés in 70's rock : vulgar, bombastic, pretentious and self indulgent, but thanks God with no drums solos. "Do you feel like we do" is the kind of stuff helping the most to make hate guitar solos. In our poor Belgium, a radio speaker praised this as the most sold live album : could this be true???

for some reason, people blame it for changing marketable rock music, as it became a crazy big seller overnight.

Changed the game.

Goldfinger's Superman has the honour of being the only song from THPS1 to be in THPS HD.

This album takes a SHARP decline after Superman, and it never recovers. Shame.

03 Oct 2012: "Dance of Death" by Iron Maiden
This album has one of the worst album covers ever. The creator even asked for his name to not be attached to it.
Starting with Wildest Dreams isn't the best move. Rainmaker would have been a much stronger opener.
Bruce Dickinson is getting old. This is the first album where it shows. Despite this, he still gives great performances.
In fact, this album is still a five-star album. Underrated to fuck.
