| BONUS REVIEW: "Dr. Feelgood" by Motley Crue http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2011/04/help-by-guys.html CAN THEY REDEEM THEMSELVES AFTER BEING SO MEDIOCRE FOR SO MANY YEARS - answer:
Normally, I don't have much to say about demo versions, but the demo of the title track on this version I have is super-interesting. The final version is from a third-person perspective, talking about the titular character as "he", but this demo is in first-person. Dr. Feelgood is referred to as "I". The verses are completely different, and it's just a cool thing that exists. Guitar solo's slightly different but who cares The rest of the bonus tracks are throwaways. |

| 14 Aug 2012: "Madman Across the Water" by Elton John Tiny Dancer starts this album. It is the best Elton John song. The rest of the album is pretty good. Choirs aren't cool, though. |

| BONUS REVIEW: "Their Satanic Majesties' Request" by The Rolling Stones http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2011/04/scrobbling-by-scrobblers.html THE ROLLING STONES, PROFESSIONAL BANDWAGON-JUMPERS They should have called this Lt. Salt's Desolate Lungs Group Ensemble, or maybe Pvt. Paprika's Companionless Liver Association Orchestra. Maybe Col. Basil's Solitary Pancreas Corporation Troupe? Or perhaps Gen. Nutmeg's Isolated Spleen Coalition Symphony? |

With a guy named Graham, how can you go wrong? Speaking of Graham, Since You Been Gone sounds like a Foreigner song. THIS IS A GREAT ALBUM LISTEN TO IT OR SOMETHING |

| 19 Aug 2012: "Get Your Wings" by Aerosmith, revisited. So, I won't have internet at all tomorrow. I have a blog post scheduled to go up tomorrow. Let's hope Blogger is cool and not shitty. Before listening, I only remembered Same Old Song and Dance, Train Kept A-Rollin', and Too Bad, which were orgasmic, as well as Lord of the Thighs, which I remember being shitty. It's not. It's actually okay as fuck. Woman of the World is a highlight, and makes it obvious that I never listened to this album in full before today, despite owning it foir years. |

| 23 Aug 2012: "Casey Abrams" by Casey Abrams WELL THEN Too many instruments at once on side one; you can't pick just one out. They blend together in a bad way. The songs themselves are very average, lyrically. Blame it on Me and Wore Out My Soul are great, though. The song Dry Spell, however, is almost exactly what I wanted out of this album. |

| 24 Aug 2012: "Sex Machine" by James Brown LET'S SEE IF THIS MAN CAN REDEEM HIMSELF Fake live albums are totally amazing and not a stupid idea at all! You get the annoying "crowd-pleasing", "I am not the one you are interacting with so I don't give a fuck", "just get to the part where music comes out of your mouth hole", but with none of the excuses for it! |

| 27 Aug 2012: "Songs of Love and Hate" by Leonard Cohen THE /MU/ ESSENTIALS LIST NEVER STOPS CHORUS OF CHILDREN RUINING A PERFECTLY GOOD SONG NEVER CHANGE, PRETENTIOUS ASSHOLES I really like this album, until the children start coming in. I fucking hate them. AND NOW THERE ARE WOMEN IN THE BACKGROUND FUCK MY LIFE
In conclusion: Avalanche is fucking great, and really made me want to give this album a super-high score, but BACKGROUND VOCALISTS ruin the rest of the songs, aside from Love Calls You by Name and Famous Blue Raincoat. There's also a demo of Dress Rehearsal Rag that's cool. You honestly have no idea how much I hate this. Leonard Cohen's songs of love and/or hate would all be amazing if it was just him singing. He has the right voice. He has the required amount of emotion. The backing vocalists betray all of that. In one fell swoop, they take a 4.5 album down to a 1. A one out of five. Songs of Love and Hate, my condolences. I didn't want to give you a 1. I wanted you to stand tall in the 4.5s, maybe one day ascending to a 5. Rest in Peace. |
