so boring why even bother making this |

| i'm changing up the format doing two albums a day just made me avoid double albums because fuck so one album a day is the new standard we'll cross the "first album of the month is always the beatles" when we get there (i'm running out of them honestly)
we'll still get the obligatory "monthly motorhead album!!!" and whatever, but there should be more variety, at least
and i'm going to stop with the "reviews are prerecorded" thing we all know by now that i'm doing these at least a day in advance
04 May 2017: The Clash/"Sandinista" (1980) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2017/05/sand-in-my.html
starting off the new format with a triple album finishing a discography while we're at it
if music could talk would be complete filler if not for that saxophone it takes the song from "what" to "mmmmmm"
lose that skin is sung by geddy lee i'm not looking it up because it sounds exactly like fucking geddy lee
against all odds, they've made a pretty decent triple album it's got all kinds of neato tracks and doesn't get boring there's some awful garbage here but you could say the same about the white album
the white album is a really good comparison, actually if you're a fan of the band, you'll accept the shit as part of the whole if you're not, you won't granted, i like the white album a million times more than sandanista, but the same is true of the bands themselves
for real, though: this is the best album the clash ever made (the only other one i even liked was give 'em enough rope though)
side F is pretty shit though they probably could have and should have pared this down to a double album, in spite of what i said previously i've got conflicting feelings after side F if side F's bullshit was sprinkled throughout, i wouldn't have noticed but it's all just THERE |

| 05 May 2017: Great White/"Once Bitten" (1987) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2017/05/my-my-my.html
not the one with once bitten twice shy on it that would be the sequel, Twice Shy
the thing about this album (and i believe i said this about twice shy as well) is that it sounds empty the bass needs to be turned up to create a fuller sound as it sits it feels like it's missing something
save your love tries hard to be the next big glam metal ballad but it's just okay
this album is much better than twice shy, even if it doesn't have any song as good as the title track (honestly once bitten twice shy should have been on both albums) also the girl on the cover is homely as fuck |

| 06 May 2017: Kasabian/"For Crying Out Loud" (2017) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2017/05/exactly-what-i-thought.html
three years after the horrific 48:13, we get this the first track starts off like "what why" but then it grows on you
this is the best kasabian album by miles i've listened to all of them, and until now empire was the only decent one this one's pretty nice not groundbreaking or anything but nice |

| 07 May 2017: The Cult/"Choice of Weapon" (2012) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2017/05/i-choose-banjo.html
finishing another discography how excitement
the singer just sounds old his voice didn't improve with age it's kind of like what happened to david bowie's voice except without the great songs that make it work
there's one song that is sung like this and it's really annoying |

| 08 May 2017: The Gregg Allman Band/"I'm No Angel" (1987) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2017/05/ignore-wings.html
the album art is horrendous on the left side, there's a red block with a weird yellow line that looks like the MS paint spray can tool, and the text telling you the album name is in cyan
opens with a bruce springsteen song |

there's something about finishing up discographies that just feels so good
there's a track where it's just like an announcer announcing the band but it's in the MIDDLE of the album oh wait that's because the last few tracks are live or at least they want you to believe that
the live portion should have just been thrown out the cover of teddy bear is just dumb |

do you remember agnew i do
this album was most likely an attempt to get into a tony hawk game they were super-impressed with THPS1 i suppose
nothing here is notable at all they haven't yet discovered the violin so it's all pretty pointless |

| 12 May 2017: Jethro Tull/"The Broadsword and the Beast" (1982) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2017/05/place-your-bets.html
a few songs here are definitely a product of the '80s like, there's no way jethro tull would make such a song outside of the '80s
songs like pussy willow make it work pretty well though watching me watching you has some weird-ass '80s-ass synths which is actually kind of neat
overhang is probably the best song here but it's a bonus track (i hate when that happens) bonus tracks take it from a 3.5 to a 4 |

| 13 May 2017: Warrant/"Louder, Harder, Faster" (2017) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2017/05/stronger-better.html
the hottest newest release from a band that hasn't been relevant since 1990's cherry pie but what a relevance it was r.i.p. jani lane
good news: warrant have gone back to being a glam metal band bad news: it's not a particularly good one
for what it's worth: i feel that warrant can be used as a GREAT EXAMPLE of a glam metal band they may not be the best one, but within three songs, you can display the genre pretty well to someone who's not into it
cherry pie is the radio hit that everyone knows whether they want to or not heaven is the GLAM METAL BALLAD uncle tom's cabin is their best song, and a good display of some of the best the genre has to offer
then of course they went full skid row and made really bad regular metal albums, and now that jani lane's died, they've gone back to glam metal, only less interesting than before
granted, you can do the song examples thing with skid row (youth gone wild / i remember you / here i am), motley crue (looks that kill / home sweet home / too fast for love), poison (talk dirty to me / every rose has its thorn / look what the cat dragged in), etc. etc. but whatever
the final song on this album is a modern bon jovi song, 100% |

| 14 May 2017: Paramore/"After Laughter" (2017) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2017/05/painful-chest.html
the "rock band" pretense has been dropped pthe album starts off interesting but drops off quickly
forgiveness just goes on and on and on and it's just like I GET IT ALREADY no friend is just why even bother it sounds like muddled propaganda; i can barely hear it and i'm not sure i want to
it's an okay album i guess i had high hopes after the first three tracks but it quickly fell apart |

i said that i'd do future rock band dlc and here we are
the big surprisingly good song is how deep is the ocean big fan of the cover of he's got the whole world in his hands as well
i'm kind of glad they divided shout into two parts part two is plainly inferior |

ask me no questions would later influence lynyrd skynyrd to make their song, don't ask me no questions they share the line "don't ask me no questions and i won't tell you no lies"
ending on the worst song is always a bad idea hummingbird is just so overblown with the chorus of women at the end and it just isn't very good |
