half of the red hot chili peppers john frusciante chad smith josh klinghoffer (and flea on the last track) all that's missing is anthony keidis i don't miss him
fuck negative 00 ghost 27 it's like a radiohead song without anything that makes radiohead good honestly you put thom yorke over this song and it's great as an instrumental it's shit
failure33object is also shit goddammit
every song with a number in the title on this album is shit which is bullshit since the album is amazing otherwise
overall though, better than any rhcp album |

when bands get old they run out of ideas and make really mediocre music
case in point |

| i wrote these two reviews last night because i'm busy today this explains why they are better than usual
21 May 2016: Iggy Pop/"Post-Pop Depression" (2016) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2016/05/julio-and-case-of-missing-post-office.html
remember raw power? well this is the opposite of that
more like post-filler depression
a poor man's mid-'80s david bowie album a VERY poor man we're talking third world here is there a fourth world? if so, iggy has taken us there
a transcendent experience like being stuck in a grocery store that's playing their music a bit too loud and they're all out of cheerios regular, honey nut, frosted it doesn't matter they're out you think maybe they're on an endcap all that's on the endcap is fruit loops the cereal of broken dreams |

| 21 May 2016: Dream Theatre/"Awake" (1994) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2009/05/wake-me-up-inside.html
really bad vocals they went for a more "metal" sound and it backfired hard
space-dye vest is the musical equivilent of watching a pale girl with brown eyes and long black hair with full bangs in a black turtleneck peel and then eat an orange alone in a stark white room the girl pretends she doesn't know you're there but she knows oh dear god she knows

| busy again today have some prerecorded reviews for your entertainment
22 May 2016: Santana/"Santana IV" (2016) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2016/05/julio-and-case-of-missing-two.html
santana felt so bad about skipping 2 that he went back and made sure 4 was okay
YAMA YAMA OH NO YAMA YAMA YEAH make up your mind carlos do you like yama yama or not
i don't like this ronald isley guy he just doesn't have a very good voice at all
suenos is the best song on the album it is a guitar-based instrumental
there is a song here called come as you are THANKFULLY it is not a nirvana cover THANK YOU LORD
better than i was expecting (my expectations were rock bottom) |

don't ask
seal is a crazy motherfucker he's got three self-titled albums he was weezer before weezer were weezer
why is kiss from a rose in the exact middle of this album i don't care what you think of me i love kiss from a rose
much better than i'd thought it would be honestly |

this band though how did they end up in the "big four" of anything all their music is either cheesy beyond words or generic beyond words
this album isn't cheesy like their 80s material it's just bland and uninteresting |

this is just strange
way lighter than iron maiden so bruce sounds ridiculously out of place
iron maiden was the best band for both dickinson and di'anno and the worst band for bayley
probably never going to do another one of these to be honest |

| 24 May 2016: Animal Collective/"Painting With" (2016) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2016/05/julio-and-case-of-missing_24.html
i have reviewed two animal collective albums: 2009's merriweather post pavilion, which was VERY GOOD 2012's centipede hz, which was MEDIOCRE
painting with begins with a very annoying track great start boys
hocus pocus would be a good song if not for the ends of certain lines where they go into slow motion it's hard to explain but REST ASSURED it sucks
the parking lot the parking lot is way too hot this damn song this damn song is way too shit if i hear the line 'the parking lot the parking lot' ONE MORE FUCKING TIME I SWEAR TO GOD
oddly this album opens with its three worst tracks then it gets a lot better who even does that |

| 24 May 2016: Joe Satriani/"Flying in a Blue Dream" (1989) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2009/05/satchel.html
satch with hair
who even knew such a thing happened
i have realised something i don't like satch the guitar parts of his songs are way too high-pitched and annoying his voice is also just kind of there on this one he's no paul gilbert that's for sure
the mystical potato head groove thing is the greatest song title ever shame about the song
the forgotten part one has this weird piano part that doesn't really have a melody it's like someone badly edited it together |

| 25 May 2016: Vektor/"Terminal Redux" (2016) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2016/05/julio-and-case-of-missing-terminal.html
i'm trying something different today this is rym's #1 rated metal album for 2016 it's "technical thrash metal" so-
THESE VOCALS WHY
i hate this already
these might be the absolute WORST harsh screaming vocals i've EVER heard
well we're already here may as well finish it i guess "technical thrash metal" needs to be added to the pile of unlistenable metal subgenres "technical" must be a synonym for "vocals that make you want to die"
i honestly can't remember the last time i was begging for filler instrumentals
WELL I'M NEVER LISTENING TO AN UNKNOWN METAL BAND EVER AGAIN IS THERE SOME UNWRITTEN RULE THAT METAL HAS TO BE FUCKING GARBAGE
track four is a beautiful filler instrumental i love it so
collapse has actual actual singing it's not the best singing i've ever heard but goddamn does it sound like the voice of a fucking angel right now then the last half of the track happens and we're back to screaming fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you |

zakk wylde's first and (until this year) only solo album it's not metal
zakk's voice isn't bad at all for this sort of thing
this is exactly the kind of album i needed after that last one |

forty years after their debut, they make a self-titled album
there's a song here called shout at the devil it's not a cover
new singuy here he's pretty good kind of generic but that's not a bad thing in this case
good metal?! that's a first |

a return to form ends on the worst track though |

27 May 2016: The Monkees/"Good Times!" (2016) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2016/05/julio-and-case-of-missing-time-alone.html
this is the band's first album since 1996 their first album since davy jones's death
every song was written by a different (set of) famous musician(s) this includes but is not limited to: rivers cuomo (of weezer fame) noel gallagher (of oasis fame) carole king (of carole king fame)
you can tell rivers's song was written by him it sounds exactly like something that would have been on the white album mediocre as fuck |

29 May 2016: Elton John/"Wonderful Crazy Night" (2016) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2016/05/julio-and-case-of-missing-night.html
i really like the the title track the piano riff is just so nice
claw hammer, in concept and execution, is "i ran out of ideas" the song blue wonderful really could have been a satire of cheesy love songs, but i think elton is serious here
the album starts off really well but gives up after two tracks |

| 29 May 2016: Bon Jovi/"Bounce" (2002) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2009/05/lets-bounce.html
I've told you all about the Jon Bon Jovis we've had over the years, but here's a refresher:
JBJ1 - Bon Jovi, 7800 Degrees Fahrenheit, Slippery When Wet, New Jersey (1984-1988) JBJ2 - Keep the Faith, These Days, Crush (1992-2000) JBJ3 - Bounce, This Left Feels Right, Have a Nice Day, Lost Highway, The Circle (2002-2009) JBJ4 - What About Now, Burning Bridges, This House is Not for Sale (2013-2016)
Basically, JBJ2 died in 9/11, and we're left with this piece of shit. I don't know why, but each JBJ is worse than the last one.
first song has a chuggy riff i wasn't expecting this album to be like this it's actually decent what happened to this band they used to be decent now they're just eugh
"call it luck me? i just don't give a" SILENCE why why would you do this i hate you forever |
