| Was it a coincidence you did Blackstar on Bowie's birthday? I listened to some of blackstar and I didn't hate it Dollar Days was magical, but most of the rest seemed too 80s for me. I'll have to give it a proper listen sometime While I have your attention: when you get a free spot in your review schedule, you should listen to my fave album right now, Basket of Light by Pentangle |

| It actually was, since the album just came out today. Well, yesterday technically but I haven't gone to sleep yet even though it's Saturday right now
'80s is definitely not how I'd describe Blackstar. I don't even know how you're getting that.
As far as five-angled shapes go, I'll see what I can do but no promises definitely not promises to do it tomorrow which is technically today but I haven't gone to sleep yet so |

| 09 Jan 2016: The Pentangle/"Basket of Light" (1969) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2010/01/by-autoerotica.html
>Genres >British folk rock >Folk baroque >Folk rock >Progressive folk >English folk music
1: what the fuck this is not what i was expecting 2: how THE FUCK is it a different genre when it's made somewhere else i fucking hate music people they overcomplicate everything invent subgenres that shouldn't exist segregate EVERYTHING based on minute details fucking hell
The backing vocals here are kind of annoying. The lead girl tries to hit all kinds of notes, and they don't all sound great. I hate when people try to show off their voice. You don't have to hit a million different notes every fucking song.
Getting really fucking sick of chimes, too.
THIS SONG IS SUNG BY A MAN I HATE TO SAY IT BUT I LIKE IT A LOT MORE THAN THE OTHER SONGS Mostly because he just sings the song. He doesn't try to hit all the notes that exist, or at the very least, he's less obvious about it. These backing vocals are pretty annoying on the train song.
this album gave me a headache
yellow you listen to some weird-ass shit |

| hmmmmmmmmm, oh well As far as genres go, it's really just renaissance folk with jazz bass and drums. I think of it as Jazz Folk in my mind, similar to Tim Buckley and what not. I agree about Train Song's backing vocals. The song would be better without them. I do like the girl though. For being super british, she doesn't over do that aspect of it like other british folk groups at the time. Light Flight is one of my favorite songs of all time. There's so many sweet moving parts in the composition....and the acoustic guy is doing electric style riffs which really gives it a cool feel. I love the band. |

Why is this band still called Boston if Tom Scholz is the only remaining original member? about as uninspired as albums go |

finishing discographies from bands i don't like
The album begins with an instrumental. I hope the entire album is like this. Instrumental, I mean. Overall, though, it was much better than I'd thought it would be. not great though |

album would have been better without the last four tracks |

| WE'VE BEEN AUTOMATICALLY SPLIT INTO OUR THIRD TOPIC
12 Jan 2016: AC/DC/"T.N.T." (1975) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2010/01/great-by-great.html
THIS will finish off the Bon Scott-era AC/DC albums. Most of this album would become the international version of High Voltage, and at least one song would be on the international version of Dirty Deeds.
It's a Long Way to the Top's bagpipes annoy me. The Jack is the epitome of filler. Holy shit, I don't think I'm exaggerating here. |

I would have done this months ago if I'd known it was out.
Sailin' On just proves to me that Corey Taylor has no business being in a punk rock band. I still really don't like Gimme Shelter.
Too Fast for Love just sounds silly when Corey sings it. And the ending, oh wow. "too bleep to bleep" is so cheesy i'm feeling queasy |

Pills and Soap is the best song Elvis Costello ever recorded. Why doesn't it end the album? |

Billy Idol's voice is completely different here than it was in the '80s. It's completely unrecognisable on a lot of tracks. Still better than anything else after the debut. |
