The Buzzcocks/"What do I Get?": C
Pretty much punk rock in a nutshell. Borderline annoying vocals, powerchords everywhere, no lack of energy.
Twisted Sister/"We're Not Gonna Take It": C-
Kind of boring, honestly.
The Runaways/"Cherry Bomb": D+
Horrible re-recording, uninteresting as shit chart.
The Offspring/"Self-Esteem": C
The best song and the most interesting chart so far, but that's not really saying anything, now, is it?
Sum 41/"Motivation": C
New best chart, but, really.
The Ramones/"Spider-Man": A+
SPIDER-MAN
SPIDER-MAN
DOES WHATEVER A SPIDER CAN
Bad Brains/"Re-Ignition": D-
Despite having a neat guitar solo, this is a completely awful song.
Soundgarden/"Black Rain": C
It's got some neat moments, but it's not one of Soundgarden's better songs.
Linkin Park/"Bleed it Out": C-
Chords, bad rapping, chords, this baby's got it all. It's even got chords.
The Hives/"Tick Tick Boom": C
Chords, chords, and more chords. Just like in LEGO Rock Band.
The Vines/"Get Free": C
This song was also in Rock Band 3. I think it was better there, because it wasn't preceded by a song that's almost exactly the same.
Bush/"Machinehead": C+
Not a very good song, but the chart is pretty interesting. Probably the most interesting yet.
Band of Skulls/"I Know What I Am": B-
Gets points for being a good song, but the chart isn't the best.
Muse/"Uprising": F
Boring, pretentious bullshit.
Flyleaf/"Again": D+
Well, it's a better song than I'm so Sick, at least.
Phoenix/"Lasso": C
Overlap with Rock Band 3 like this can't be a coincidence. I've never even heard of these guys, And the song isn't even that great. It's just chords.
Interpol/"Slow Hands": C
It's still better than P.D.A., but I don't get why this band is popular.
Nine Inch Nails/"Wish": F
The song's not bad, but the chart is absolutely horrible. I may never be able to use my left hand again.
Queen/"Bohemian Rhapsody": A+
This choice made sense in Rock Band 3, with the keyboard thing. In this game? Not so much.
HOWEVER
The way they animated the band specifically for this song was fucking brilliant.
The White Stripes/"Seven-Nation Army": F
The most boring song of theirs? Sounds good.
The Cure/"Fascination Street": D+
Just a boring song all around. The chart isn't bad, though.
R.E.M./"Losing My Religion": A
Not the best chart, but it's a really great song.
Blind Melon/"Tones of Home": B-
The first truly interesting and fun chart is attached to a bad song. Sweet.
Foo Fighters/"No Way Back": B-
I thought this song would be much harder than it was. Like, Freya-tier. Unfortunately, it was a bit disappointing. Still a good song, though.
Third Eye Blind/"Graduate": D
Not a good song, not a good chart. The solo is fun, but that's about it.
Jane's Addiction/"Been Caught Stealing": A
Just like in Rock Band 3, it's a great song with a pretty good chart. The solo is especially great,
Stone Temple Pilots/"Interstate Love Song": B-
I've always felt that Interstate Love Song was a pale imitation of Plush. How fitting, then, that Neversoft's game gets Interstate Love Song, and Harmonix's gets Plush.
Nickelback/"How You Remind Me": C
It's hard to look at Nickelback objectively. After having Rock Star shoved down our throats, it's easy to just throw them in the shit pile. Rock Star is a horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE song. Also, it's cool to hate them. They're the Justin Beiber of rock music.
But, really, they're not that bad, most of the time. How You Remind Me isn't a good song, sure. It's not really a bad one, either. The first two lines, "couldn't cut it as a wise man; couldn't make it as a poor man stealing", could be great in a different song.
The problem isn't that Nickelback are bad. It's that they're retardedly average and shoved down our thoats. If they got a decent songwriter, I bet they could put out a good song or two. Maybe one of those exists. I haven't heard one.
Red Rider/"Lunatic Fringe": C+
Kind of a generic song, but it's got a decent enough chart.
Creedence Clearwater Revival/"Fortunate Son": C+
It's not the best CCR song on any front, least of all the chart.
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers/"Listen to Her Heart": C
Just kind of completely average in every possible way.
The Rolling Stones/"Stray Cat Blues": A-
One of the band's best songs, and pretty great to play, to boot. I forgive Neversoft for Honky Tonk Woman.
Blue Oyster Cult/"Burnin' for You": A-
Somehow, I think this might be a different version of the song. Everything sounds a bit off. Great song and chart, nonetheless.
The Edgar Winter Group/"Free Ride": B
The main riff is stupid, and the rest is just okay. It's lucky it's a good song.
Black Sabbath/"Children of the Grave": why
WHO KNEW G/B TRILLS WOULD HURT SO MUCH
Aerosmith/"Cryin'": A
I mean, it's fucking Cryin'. It's a crime that this song wasn't in GH:Aerosmith, and I'm glad we've finally got it. Now, where's Eat the Rich?
Dire Straits/"Money for Nothing": A-
Despite the exclusion of the "look at that faggot" line, it's still pretty sweet. That's the way you do it.
Neil Young/"Rockin' in the Free World": C
Kind of boring, actually.
Rush/"2112": A+
Very fun, framed very well in the story, and probably the best thing Rush ever did.
Orianthi/"Suffocated": C+
I like the solos, but the song itself is very generic.
My Chemical Romance/"I'm Not Okay": B
It's a great song, but the chart is almost entirely chords. Contrary to what the title would tell you, overall, this song is okay.
Silversun Pickups/"There's No Secrets This Year": C+
The song is pretty good, but the chart leaves a lot to be desired.
Fall Out Boy/"Dance, Dance": B-
Fall Out Boy are another butt of the joke. They're actually pretty talented, and make good songs. This isn't their best, but it's still pretty good.
RX Bandits/"It's Only Another Parsec...": F
Generic as shit song, bad chart.
Drowning Pool/"Bodies": A+
LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR
LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR
LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR
Anberlin/"The Feel-Good Drag": B+
An okay song with a super-good chart.
A Perfect Circle/"The Outsider": C
Look, I feel bad when I just say "oh it's okay", but HOLY SHIT THESE SONGS ARE FUCKING GENERIC AS SHIT
Rise Against/"Saviour": C
GENERIC
E

E
R
I
C
Rammstein/"Waidmanns Heil": C-
I didn't understand any of it, but I'm pretty sure it's better than Du Hast.
Pantera/"I'm Broken": D+
Not one of Pantera's best songs, songwise or chartwise. I found myself getting bored.
AFI/"Dancing Through Sunday": C-
So, uh, when does this game get good? It's full of pretty fucking GENERIC songs.
Five-Finger Death Punch/"Hard to See": D
The guitar solo saves this from being an F. Generic, horrible-to-play riff, this baby has fucking EVERYTHING
THIS GAME WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE BEST ONE
THE REASON IT'S SO GOOD IS HARD TO SEE
I CAN'T EXPLAIN WHY IT'S SO HARD FOR ME
Dethklok/"Bloodlines": F
Boring, generic bullshit.
Atreyu/"Ravenous": F
There's a difference between "challenging" and "retarded".
Metallica and Ozzy Osbourne/"Paranoid": F
Horrible version of a great song. Ozzy is at his most unintelligible here.
Slipknot/"Psychosocial": B
Finally, a good song. Finally, a decent chart. Finally. FINALLY.
Alter Bridge/"Ties That Bind": D
A horrible song with a mostly horrible chart.
Strung Out/"Calling": D
A mediocre song with a mostly horrible chart.
KISS/"Love Gun": A
One of KISS's best songs. That solo near the end is perfect.
Alice Cooper/"No More Mr. Nice Guy": B+
A reasonably fun chart set to a reasonably good song. I probably liked the song more than I should have.
ZZ Top/"Sharp-Dressed Man": B-
Not a very good live version. The guitar sounds very indistinct, which is bad on a song with a riff that's this pronounced. It also has those great "thirty years later" vocals.
Them Crooked Vultures/"Scumbag Blues": B
A fun riff, but not a very good song.
Styx/"Renegade": A+
Amazing song, amazing chart, amazing everything, okay rerecording.
Foreigner/"Feels Like the First Time": A+
I mean, I played this in Rock Band and everything, but with that new riff at the end, it
Jethro Tull/"Aqualung": A-
There's something about this version that bothers me. I think the main riff lacks the same intensity it usually has.
George Thorogood and the Destroyers/"Move it on Over": C-
Not a very fun song. It might be the live version they used.
Lynyrd Skynyrd/"Call Me the Breeze": F
... WHAT
WHAT
WHAT
WHAT
WHY
ONE OF MY MOST ANTICIPATED SONGS
AND THE CHART GAVE ME CANCER
I choose to believe that it's all because of the live version, rather than the song itself.
Def Leppard/"Pour Some Sugar on Me": B-
It's fun enough, but it's not a very good song.
Queensryche/"Jet City Woman": C-
Really generic and kind of boring, but at least it's better than QUEEN OF THE RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Guitar Hero Slash and Ian Astbury/"Ghost": C-
Boring song with a kind of painful main riff.
Poison/"Unskinny Bop": B+
You're really here for that riff. Unfortunately, there isn't much to it other than that.
Tesla/"Modern-Day Cowboy": B-
It's a good song, but the chart could be better.
Night Ranger/"You Can Still Rock in America": A
Those solos alone are worth the price of admission.
Avenged Sevenfold/"Bat Country": C+
It's not a good song, but it's fun enough. It's no Almost Easy, though.
Deep Purple/"Burn": uh
Am I retarded, or is this chart completely and totally wrong in every possible way?
Have I been anticipating THAT for years? What the fuck even is that riff?
Anthrax/"Indians": F
IT'S ANTHRAX
WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED TO KNOW
Megadeth/"Holy Wars": C
Half of the song is really boring, the other half is great. If that opening riff wasn't so long and drawn-out, maybe it would get a B.
Megadeth/"This Day We Fight!": F
That was horrible. Horrible chart, mediocre as shit Broderick-era Megadeth.
Megadeth/"Sudden Death": B+
This song was specifically-written for this game. Naturally, the guitar chart is pretty sweet.
The Dillinger Escape Plan/"Setting Fire to Sleeping Giants": D+
A horrible song with screamy-ass bullshit, but the chart is good in spots. Shame about those three-note chord sections.
Steve Vai/"Speeding": F
Somehow both retarded and boring at the same time!
John Five and Jim Root/"Black Widow of La Porte": C
This is how you do the "impossible to beat without the stupid powers this game gives you that effectively make you unable to lose" song.
DragonForce/"Fury of the Storm": C
Not as good of a song as I'd remembered. Honestly, TTFATF was a better song, both overall and for GH3.
Arch Enemy/"Nemesis": D
It makes no sense putting this after all those hard songs. It's pretty fucking easy, dog.
Also, it's completely horrible.
Snot/"Deadfall": F
Horrible song, horrible chart.
Children of Bodom/"If You Want Peace... Prepare for War": C
Fun chart, shit song.
ALL METAL MUST BE HORRIBLE
Slayer/"Chemical Warfare": F
Absolutely horrible in every way.
Overall, this game is overrated as shit.
