The first tier list is out, and all the characters I like apparently suck.

My top five is Ike (E), Marth (D), Pit (C), Luigi (E), Ness (E+). I've got over forty hours into this game, so I'm pretty much fucked.
Yoshi is a total powerhouse, though, so I can totally see why he's top-tier.

There are currently two DLC characters planned for release. Both will also get Amiibos.
This month, Mewtwo will be available. On the fifteenth for those who registered both the 3DS and Wii U versions before Club Nintendo ended (including me), and on the twenty-ninth for everyone else. The former group gets him for free, the latter has to pay $3 for each version individually, $5 for both.



Mewtwo's final smash is Mega Mewtwo Y. We'll see if he's better than in Melee.

Ryu looks the same as ever, but Roy looks a lot different. He looks a lot older (like Ike, but Ike actually had a game where he got older) and his clothing design is very different. I actually really like the new design (Roy 5 is my favourite), though it makes me wonder if there will be an FE6 sequel/remake, or if Roy will appear in SMTxFE.
As a note, Roy's lines have been rerecorded, but he still only speaks Japanese.

Ryu's final smash is so tasteful with the ink splotches, I would definitely give him a try

not too familiar with capcom's stuff, but it might be fun if they add the okami wolf or viewtiful joe to the roster
and wasn't a phoenix wright character included in a recent beat 'em up game? can't remember for certain

in also thinking of non-nintendo characters on nintendo systems, it might be wicked if bomberman was added in eventually. but I feel like that's really going down the rabbit hole so to speak

Phoenix himself was in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, but I feel he'd fit better into Smash alongside Wii Fit Trainer, Pacman, Villager, etc. Also, I'm not much a traditional 2D fighting game fan.

Capcom definitely has a lot of characters who would be great for this sort of game, so I'm hoping for a proper Nintendo vs Capcom game. They could even do two versions, one in the Street Fighter style and one in the Smash style, like the SF/Tekken crossover was planned to.

Bomberman could be neat (he even had a crossover game with Wario on the original Game Boy), but Konami is kind of a mess right now. I mostly just want Snake back, really.

Whatshisface looks really fun to play, honestly. He wields a sword, but he mainly attacks by transforming into a dragon. 10/10 choice on all fronts.
