| OKAY Day one: GENERAL: Made a male Imperial The customisation options are cool, and you can finally make a character who doesn't look like he's from, well, Oblivion. The most immediate improvement over Oblivion is, of course, the graphics. However, the shadows are extremely pixelated, and you can see grids on the ground and even people's faces occasionally. In spite of this, what you'll be looking at 75% of the time, your weapons/magic hands, look extremely good. But the weapons in Oblivion still look amazing, so I guess it doesn't matter so much. Also, YOU CAN'T SEE YOUR BODY IN FIRST PERSON. But it wasn't in Deus Ex, so I guess I can't expect it in a Bethesda game. OH, and you can FUCKING MELT SNOW WITH A FIRE SPELL. The voice acting is better the Oblivion, but there is at least one voice you will hear FUCKING EVERYWHERE. I noticed a lot of voice actors from Jade Empire, including fucking SILK FOX. Points for Bethesda. Oh, but I keep hearing "fast" pronounced as "FOST". Oh, and I found a small brigade of Fenrises (fenrii?) transporting a prisoner. I regretfully killed him, thrice. The third-person kill animations are startling, in a bad way. - Spoiler:
The plot so far is DRAGONS DRAGONS DRAGONS. I think after you kill the first one, it adds them to the skies regularly, much like Oblivion gates in, well, Oblivion. I haven't done anything past the first dragon slaying and becoming Thane of Whiterun. The Companions are this game's fighters' guild. After exactly two missions for them, you are inducted into their ranks. Two more, and they force you to become a werewolf to advance. The College of Mages or whatever is the mages' guild. I haven't gotten to wherever yet. Haven't even heard of a thieves' guild. The Dark Brotherhood is apparently doing shit, but I haven't murdered anyone yet.
Oh, and Bethesda decided to add children. Anyone who's played Fallout 3 or New Vegas knows that, no matter how annoying and retarded they are, you cannot kill them. You can slaughter an entire town and still have children walking around. Fuck that. The general situation in Whiterun is "MY FAMILY IS BETTER THAN YOUR FAMILY", which you can, thankfully, avoid. Birthsigns are replaced by birthstones, where you walk up to them and get a bonus. It's all right. GAMEPLAY: I tried a lot of things, combat-wise. Sword + sword is unwieldy and feels stupid. You generally end up only swinging one unless you do that stupid dual slash. Sword + shield is useless, as the shield generally ends up ignored. Shield + shield isn't even an option. Sword + torch is pretty bad, as you swing the torch, you need to block with it, then press the sword button. Shield + spell is just retarded. Spell + torch is EXTREMELY retarded. Two-handers are for retards. Spell + spell is great. If you don't purchase the perk to combine them into a huge blast, you just fire them at the same time. Sword + spell is the best, inarguably. You can use a fire spell as they get close, then hack into them. The combat actually feels good and has weight, unlike Oblivion. Basically, the entire game is a million times better than Oblivion. My most-used skills are: Heavy armour One-handed Destruction Lockpicking Smithing Speech (which encompasses speechcraft + mercantile from Oblivion) Smithing is really easy and useful. You can sharpen a sword to make it deal more damage, or reinforce your armour to make it more protective. Ingots are found on loads of dead things. Leather is made from animal pelts and whatnot. I suggest improving everything you plan on using. One perk makes it so you can improve things even further. Alchemy is still shit. Enchanting is odd. To find out how to make a certain enchantment, you need to destroy something with the enchantment. Then you need the soul gems, etc. STATS: Fenris sightings: 3 Dragons slain: 2 Level: 8 |

| Day two: Someone called the Dark Brotherhood on me. Joy. Maybe it was because I killed that walrus. Goo goo g'etc. Noticed some familiar voices. Thought I heard Pete (Disney), Samos the Sage, Bartrand, The Boss(!) and Sean Devlin. That last one might just be me thinking all Irish people sound the same, though. Drank some guy in Riften under the goddamn table and ended up on the opposite corner of the fucking map. Jesus Christ. On that note, Markarth fucking sucks. - Spoiler:
Joined the College of Winterhold. Basically, I've uncovered some bad shit and need to control the shit out of it because the Psijic Order told me to. Gee. Joined the Thieves' Guild. The story is really intriguing. Betrayal and all that shit. The missions are pretty fun and don't take you too far out of towns. Also, the leader picked a lock that said "needs a key". The man is the second fucking coming. Joined the Stormcloaks, killed some Romans. They want me to attack Whiterun, but the Jarl is my totally my friend. Well, if he sides with the Romans, he has to die. R.I.P. Jarl of Whiterun. You were pretty okay until you decided to be a Roman. Haven't advanced the plot anywhere else.
Found retarded glitch: I could still swim in the nonexistent water. Dragons slain: 5 Fenrii found: 3 Level: 16 Game freezes: 1 Factions joined: 4 GamerScore: 125 TrueAchievement points: 349 |

| OKAY Day three: Okay, I'm going to make this simple and throw it into categories, all thrown into spoiler tags. Everything I've done so far. Also, the College of Winterhold is a fucking dragon magnet. Main plot: - Spoiler:
Escaped Helgen, found some tablet and defeated the first dragon at Whiterun. Pretty simple. Got summoned by the Greybeards but fuck it.
Companions: - Spoiler:
Basically, I joined, did one quest, they sent me on a mission to find a broken piece of sword and I got it. Then I was made a full member, did one more mission and became a werewolf. I'm supposed to find another chunk of sword in the middle of nowhere. Maybe later.
Stormcloaks: - Spoiler:
Found some crown thing and gave Stormcloak's axe to the Jarl of Whiterun. He returned it and we invaded them. Now I'm supposed to report to a camp for orders. Maybe later.
College of Winterhold: - Spoiler:
Found some orb thing and got warn of its danger. I'm supposed to retrieve a staff, but whatever. Also I'm a guinnea pig for everyone.
Thieves' Guild: - Spoiler:
Met Brynjolf (bro of the year) in the market and stole some shit. Helped Maven Blackbriar establish a monopoly, then got betrayed and reverse-betrayed Mercer. Am now guildmaster and a Nightingale(!). Apparently when I die, I have to serve Nocturnal or some shit. I had the skeleton key, but had to give it back. Shit sucks. Anders was there, though. Master of trolling he is. To get the guild back to its former glory, I have to do odd jobs. Yay. No one seems to care that I'm guildmaster.
Dark Brotherhood: - Spoiler:
Once again the BEST faction. After helping some boy kill the orphanage caretaker, the Dark Brotherhood get all assmad and kidnap you. Then they have you kill one (or two or three) of three people. Then you're in. Hooray. Basically, this is the LAST sanctuary in Tamriel, and the Night Mother and Sithis are so last year. We just do what Astrid tells us. And if I were the waifu-taking type, I'd totally choose Astrid. After a bit, some jester named Cicero brings in the Night Mother and you are revealed to be the chosen one, again. The Listener. Again. Everyone gets assravaged. She tells you to go to some ruin, and some guy says "KILL THE EMPEROR BRO", so YOU DO. Astrid knows that I opened the letter. TECHNOLOGY The first step is to kill the emperor's cousin at her wedding. Much fun is had. Then you have to kill the guard captain's son and frame him as the conspirator. Oh, and he's voiced by Fenris. And now I can summon the ghost of... wait for it... LUCIEN LACHANCE. FUCK YES. Then Cicero gets SUPER-ASSMAD and goes on a rampage. I'll get him back tomorrow. ON SHADOWMERE Oh, and Cicero? He was the Adoring Fan.
Misc. other highlights: - Spoiler:
Met Sanguine and got his Rose. DEBAUCHERY Met Steeper Yanru Went to Morthal and killed some vampires, and am now well on my way to becoming Thane. Yay. Killing an evil king got me fucking ORCISH ARMOUR Looking for Mehrunes' Razor, again. FUCKING QUILL OF GEMNATION; FUCKING VALD Met a TALKING DOG

+ ENVIROMENTS I cannot begin to say how amazing they are + WILDLIFE might not seem like much to some people but I love all the wildlife and variety of creatures about, really helps with immersion and shit + VOICE ACTING still isn't amazing but it's much better than Oblivion + CHARACTERS they look pretty good and I find they're all more I AM SO-GAY than Oblivion's (they were all I AM SO-GAY in Oblivion but you know what I mean) + QUESTS are super interesting + MUSIC love it + NO WEAPON/ARMOUR DECAYING thank you bethesda thank you thank you + SKILLS AND WHATNOT love the whole perks/astronomy thing + FENRIS need I say more - BUGS so many fucking bugs - COMBAT kind of sucks how they force you into playing a shield and sword wielding dude wearing heavy armour, cause otherwise you can't deal any damage or take any hits - ATHLETICS/ACROBATICS/SWIMMING ARE NOT SKILLS what the fuck bethesda |

| I'm yet to play this on an HD TV or while connected to XBL so I can't get any patches yet, but it still looks beautiful. There's a few places (Nilheim and High Hrothgar that I've tried so far) where you can try and run non-stop down the mountain without dying from fall damage. Pretty fun. But about the actual game. Main Quest: - Spoiler:
Got to killing the second main dragon after doing Greybeard shit and completing the Force Push shout thing.
Companion: - Spoiler:
Accidentally bought a mercenary bodyguard in Markath and decided to keep him around as he is nice to me. Only times he sucks is when I have to brawl someone and he jumps in and hacks them to pieces with an axe.
Weaponry: - Spoiler:
Played around with one-handed weapons with shields and spells, definitely taking more to spells and enchanted one-handed weapons right now. Two-handers are okay but not my thing, really. Nice that they've learnt lessons from Faybul that the fire/lightning combination is awesome.
Loot: - Spoiler:
Got a few nice things. A maze at the Labyrinthian has four staffs, and a fair few other items, such as a Centurion Dynamo Core which seems rad, yet useless. GOLD EVERYWHERE. Seriously, I thought bottle caps were easy to come by in Fallout 3. Looted a couple of cool enchanted maces too. Currently assraping a Mace of Sparks or something that does shock damage that was lying around an Abandoned Prison.

Seriously, what. tl;dr: most things are more special coming from the mouth than the hand, i guess magic is one of them PS: green, i don't think fire spells melt snow, it just puts that weird black scorch mark over them, if you use it on rocks it leaves the same pattern. |

| No coward soul is mine, No trembler in the worlds storm-troubled sphere: I see Heavens glories shine, And faith shines equal, arming me from fear.
O God within my breast. Almighty, ever-present Deity! Life -- that in me has rest, As I -- Undying Life -- have power in Thee!
Vain are the thousand creeds That move mens hearts: unutterably vain; Worthless as withered weeds, Or idlest froth amid the boundless main,
To waken doubt in one Holding so fast by Thine infinity; So surely anchored on The steadfast Rock of immortality.
With wide-embracing love Thy Spirit animates eternal years, Pervades and broods above, Changes, sustains, dissolves, creates, and rears.
Though earth and man were gone, And suns and universes ceased to be, And Thou wert left alone, Every existence would exist in Thee.
There is not room for Death, Nor atom that his might could render void: Thou -- Thou art Being and Breath, And what Thou art may never be destroyed.

| Day four: Encountered the worst glitch ever. I killed a guy in Markarth for the Brotherhood, and I was spotted. So, the guards are like "stop bro!!!" and try to arrest me. They won't accept guild bribes and there's no "pay fine" option. So, I elect to go to jail. After he rants about how great Cidnha Mine is, he tells me to stop, as I've violated the law. This happens with every guard, every time I try to go to jail. I can't continue the Stormcloaks questline because of it. Finished Dark Brotherhood. Best questline ever. Even better than Oblivion's. JOIN THEM FAGS Oh, and a dragon killed one of the assassination targets. It was pretty funny. - Spoiler:
R.I.P. adoring fan R.I.P. bros R.I.P. waifu R.I.P. the emperor, who i'd totally take as a husbando if i were gay I can't believe the fucking kid thing is alive
Also, I HATE the Night Mother. Finished Companions. It was okay. - Spoiler:
R.I.P. Kodlak, a bro
I'm now the Thane of Whiterun TWICE. Or DOUBLE THANE Continued main quest. Eh. | I find it amusing that everyone is having problems with bugs. The only bugs I've found (besides minor texture pop-in) were one of the Graybeards dancing when I was talking to him, and a goat falling out of the sky (which were both hilarious) |

Oh, also, the air distortion around the top of the fire staff looks awesome. |
