First, you create your character. Then, you can start the game.

You begin as a young scene kid who wants to play guitar so he can be popular. Your friend, who can shred, gives you a few lessons.

1. Learnin' the Basics
In Your Garage
"I Want You To Want Me" by Cheap Trick, 1977
"Man In The Box" by Alice In Chains, 1991
"Everyone Is Telling Me I'll Never Win, If I Fall In Love With A Girl From Marin" by Bracket, 2000
"Magic Man" by Heart, 1976

Encore Effect: The little kids gather around the garage and cheer!
"We're Not Gonna Take It" by Twisted Sister, 1984 [Encore]
"Strange Brew" by Cream, 1967 [Co-op Encore]

You decide that the scene is stupid and your friend convinces you to join his band, [you name the band]. You go to a local bar to get a drink & celebrate. The manager asks you to play a few tunes.

2. Brewskis & Bruises
At A Bar
"Feeling Lucky" by Jimmy Eat World, 2007
"Smooth" by Santana, 1999
"867-5309 (Jenny)" by Tommy Tutone, 1981
"Down Rodeo" by Rage Against The Machine, 1996

A drunken man walks through the crowd and you see that it is Scott Ian! In his drunkenness he
challenges you to a battle!

BOSS BATTLE!
"Guitar Battle Vs. Scott Ian" by Scott Ian, 2008

Encore Effect: A bar fight commences! Very Happy
"I Am The Law" by Anthrax, 1987 [Encore]
"Santeria" by Sublime, 1996 [Co-op Encore]

A producer who's been watching and knocking back a few gives you his card. He asks for a demo.

3. Recordin' Artists
In The Studio
"Pinball Wizard" by The Who, 1969
"Unskinny Bop" by Poison, 1990
"Burn The Witch" by Queens of the Stone Age, 2005
"No Way Back" by Foo Fighters, 2005

Encore Effect: You turn it up to 11 for the finishing song.
"The Boys Are Back In Town" by Thin Lizzy, 1976 [Encore]
"Dashboard" by Modest Mouse, 2007 [Co-op Encore]

The producer, Jonathan P. Hinklebottom, loved your demo and gets you free passage into the hottest nightclub in town. But first, you have to play some songs for him.

4. In Da Club
A Nightclub
"Blackest Eyes" by Porcupine Tree, 2002
"Paranoid Android" by Radiohead, 1997
"Legs" by ZZ Top, 1983
"While My Guitar Gently Weeps" by The Beatles, 1968

A gangsta begins shooting the place up, and you pray that you don't get killed. Coincidentally, Tony Iommi was in town and wants to help with the situation. He tries to distract everyone with a guitar duel.

Before you know it, you're the biggest band around! The band decides to set a record by being the first band to play on top of... MOUNT EVEREST.

5. Everest Blues
Atop Mount Everest

Encore Effect: OMG BLIZZARD!
"Monique The Freak" by Ween, 2005 [Encore]
"Torture Me" by Red Hot Chili Peppers, 2006 [Co-op Encore]

OH NOES! You're attacked by abominable snowmen! They take you to their lair where they plan to eat you! The (usually stupid) drummer comes up with an idea to escape... make an avalanche and bury the snowmen!

6. Make Some Noise
The Lair of the Abominable Snowmen
"Tie Your Mother Down" by Queen, 1976
"Stash" by Phish, 1992
"Panama" by Van Halen, 1984

WHAT A TWIST! The leader of the snowmen unzips the zipper on his back and out steps TED NUGENT! You've ruined his winter hunting camp! YOU MUST PAY.

BOSS BATTLE!

Encore Effect: An earthquake! O:
"Stranglehold" by Ted Nugent, 1975 [Encore]

Uh-oh! Other bands are tryin' to steal your thunder! You accept all challengers. Ben Weinman is the only one with balls enough to take you on.

BOSS BATTLE!
"Guitar Battle Vs. Ben Weinman" by Ben Weinman, 2008

Encore Effect: Fireworks and pyrotechnics are goin' off and stuff.
"Panasonic Youth" by The Dillinger Escape Plan, 2004 [Encore]

Some christian rock producers approach you and ask if you'll do a worship album and play at CHRIS†FES† 2008. You laugh in their faces, and start a big festival right next to where CHRIS†FES† is. You're gonna steal all their customers.

9. Festivus Maximus
