so apparently this is a covers album but i didn't realise at first because i only recognised three of the songs (maybe four)

why bother covering shot in the dark if you're just going to do it the same way as the original but worse
why bother covering the evil that men do if you're just going to do it the same way as the original but worse
(honestly though the cover of the evil that men do is actually pretty good)

it starts with their cover of africa
but why the FUCK does it not include their cover of rosanna

i don't like africa; original or otherwise
sweet dreams is better than the original

who is this singing on paranoid; it sounds nothing like rivers
it also sounds like i've heard this version before

this version of billie jean is really bad
this version of stand by me is really cool

the teal album is an interesting thing but as glad i am that it exists, i will never listen to anything from it again aside from stand by me

the real reason i'm going for this, though, is that i just really really like raspberry beret

the album starts off better than it finishes but it was still better than i expected

planet telex exists
it's not a good way to open the album
the title track should have opened; it's really good
seriously, if you remove planet telex, the title track/high and dry/fake plastic trees opening would be among the best opening trios of songs ever
shame they missed their chance

bones also merely exists but it's better than planet telex at least (same with (nice dream))
just is basically a better version of a pablo honey song
my iron lung would have also been a great opener

basically, the bends is a very good album but there's not much to talk about
