Nintendo recently announced their new thing, the Switch.
One of the reasons the Wii U did poorly initially was the dumb name that made people think it was a peripheral. So, good job there.
The idea is that it takes the main concept of the Wii U and takes it to the most ridiculous level imaginable.
The controller can either be a Wii U gamepad, or you can take off the controller bits and fuse those together to create a normal-ass controller. It's weird, but it could be amazing.
The graphics are supposed to be super-good or whatever, but it's powered by NVIDIA so it'll probably catch fire.
Nintendo has said that this WILL NOT replace the Wii U and 3DS, and I'm willing to take them at their word for now.
Highlight games they showed off:
Mario Kart
Mario 3D platformer (not like 3D World)
Zelda of course
Skyrim (mostly because of how weird a Nintendo console getting Skyrim sounds)
Sonic 2017
The most interesting game here is the Mario Kart game. Hear me out.
What they showed is just Mario Kart 8. Same karts, course from the DLC, same HUD. HOWEVER, unlike MK8, it had King Boo playable and what looked like the ability to have two items at once.
Since the Switch is not meant to replace the Wii U, maybe the Wii U MK8 will get the bonus Switch content as DLC. (let's hope because i really don't want to buy the game again)
