EPYSODE ONE:
People come from all over to make it in the big city. Dreams of fame, fortune, glitz, and glamour fill their heads. Such a life comes to few, but that doesn't stop the masses from coming. A much more common fate awaited one such dame, and, as usual, I was called in to get to the bottom of what happened.
"all right detective, this lady was shot at pointblank range with a .38 revolver" "38 revolvers?! they must have been a really good shot to have 38 bullets hit the same hole" "..." "..." "uh, sure; anyway, the victim is named julia armell and is the fifth such victim in the last two weeks; brunette, aged 21-26, came to the big city in search of stardom" "when will these people learn you have to be blonde to make it in this town" "regardless, it's up to you to find the murderer" "can do chief" I lit up a cigar and walked out into the unforgiving streets.

EPYSODE TWO:
The one lead I'd gotten from the body was a matchbook for Brucie's Tavern; a dive on the other end of town. Patrons built up their tabs like a savings account, but Brucie somehow managed to stay in business without their money. This place had always smelled fishy, but, then again, it was right next to a seafood place.
"all right buddy what do you know about this matchbook" "oh yeah matchbook #13,856; one of my favourites" "who took this matchbook" "i'd only give away such a nice matchbook as 13,856 to a truly nice customer; it was a mistour j. key as i recall" "thank you for your patronage citizen" I lit up another cigar and walked out to the residence of a mistour J. Key.

EPYSODE THREE:
Not-Sunny Acres Apartments. A popular hangout for the city's vampire population, making it a perfect hideout. No one would dare get close to the apartments with all the blood-sucking vampires running about. No one, that is, except Sheriff Antony. At the reception counter was a blonde dame named Kathy, whom I seemed to run into every case. She'd always seemed suspicious to me, but I've never been able to pin anything on her.
"hello receptionist i'm a private eye; i'm looking for a mistour j. key" "room 205" Kathy handed me the key to J. Key's room and I turned to walk up the stairs, where I was confronted by a female vampire. "OH GOD DON'T HURT ME" The vampire shot me a worried look and passed me right by. "THANK YOU" "don't mention it" I turned the key and entered room 205. "hello" "tell me everything you know about this matchbook" "oh man i thought i'd lost this thanks" J. Key slammed the door in my face, and I immediately reopened the door. "listen buddy that matchbook was found on a dead body" "oh fucking hell; i loan my matchbook out to that fucker and he goes and murders a lady" "all right i'll bite; who was it" "the king bran of course" "oh naturally" I left the apartments and walks out to the royal hall.

EPYSODE FOUR:
Alabama Royal Hall. The royal line of King Bran has remained in power for centuries with no incident, but maybe that will change today. Once again, I was greeted at the door by an apathetic Kathy. No matter where I go on this case, there she is.
"king bran sheriff antony is here to see you" "send him in" I walked up to the throne, where I was expected to bow in deference. I did not, for I had a job to do. "king bran do you recognise this matchbook" "oh yeah that one j. key loaned it to me then i loaned it to the hatsmith, svart" "oh jesus fucking christ" I hung my head and followed the trail to its next destination.

EPYSODE FIVE:
Hatsmithing is a noble profession; one that I greatly respect. Where would a detective be without his hat? But no matter how much I respect his profession, if this Svart character is involved in the murder, I've got to bring him to justice.
"hatsmith, do you recognise this matchbook" "oh yeah i left that on the body" As Svart realises what he just said, he recoils in stunned surprise for half a second. "i mean uh never seen it before dude" "no you're not taking that one back" "taking what one back" I took out my tape recorder and played back what Svart had previously stated. "aw shit" "let's go buddy; you have the right to remain silent etc. etc."
