Admittedly, I don't pay much attention to this shit.
I'm not here to whine about bullshit like "where's Iron Maiden where's Judas Priest where's Deep Purple etc.".
There is an obvious injustice here.
When bands are inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame, the hall can elect to not induct throw-away members (Gary Cherone for Van Halen comes to mind immediately). This is all well and good, in theory.
When RHCP were inducted into the hall, Josh Klinghoffer was inducted as well. Remember that Josh only recently replaced John Frusciante as lead guitarist, and has only recorded one mediocre album (I'm with You) with the band.
also jason newsted got inducted with metallica for some reason (dave mustaine didn't despite writing half their songs)
Black Sabbath got inducted, but Ronnie James Dio (R.I.P.) and Vinnie Appice didn't. Tony Martin, I can understand. Gillan, Hughes, sure. But fucking DIO? If they can put Sammy Hagar in the Van Halen column, why the fuck can't Dio be in the Sabbath column?
And don't even get me started on how much they slight drummers.
KISS got in, but not Eric Carr, who is the only member of KISS outside of the original line-up that I will advocate for.
Green Day got in, but not John Kiffmeyer, who (like Josh Klinghoffer) played on only one album. The difference being that John's album was actually good.
Nirvana got in, but not Chad Channing, who also only played on one album. However, Bleach is a bit more recognised and famous than fucking I'm with You.
JOIN US NEXT YEAR WHEN!
Pearl Jam get inducted, sans Dave Abbruzzese!
Deep Purple get inducted, sans Rod Evans, David Coverdale, Glenn Hughes, and Tommy Bolin! But Satch and Morse will get in with them!
Ozzy Osbourne's band gets inducted, sans Randy Rhoads and Jake E. Lee!
Iron Maiden get inducted, sans Paul Di'Anno and Clive Burr!
JUST KIDDING
IRON MAIDEN WILL NEVER GET INDUCTED
