Sometimes, I think these bands are having an internal competition to see who can be the most generic. |

| Reviews for tomorrow are still up in the air. E3 takes priority, but I'll try to get two reviews out.
14 Jun 2015: DLC Week 223: Both of today's reviews
14 Jun 2015: Men at Work/"Business as Usual" (1981) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2015/04/julio-and-case-of-missing-life-of.html
The main draw here is, of course, Down Under. Unfortunately (and expectedly), no other song on the album even comes close to it. |

In addition to having a song as part of week 223's DLC, this album was recommended to me by everyone's favourite terrorist-sympathiser, Purple. I actually think there is a copy of this album somewhere in my house.
Yaleo would be great if it were about half as long (a running theme of the album). Love of My Life might just be the best performance I've heard from Dave Matthews.
Smooth would be great if not for that weird-ass rapping section and everything after it. It feels like two different songs, and not in a good way. DISREGARD THAT SPOTIFY SUCKS AND IT IS TWO DIFFERENT SONGS smooth is great the song after it sucks |

The worst thing about Raining Blood being their "SONG" is that it's nothing like most of the rest of their work that I've heard. I actually kind of like this album, but I absolutely loathe Raining Blood. The best song here is a cover of a Judas Priest song. |

About as generic as metal can get, but it's fine. Certainly not worth the first page of RYM reviews being so rectally ravaged. |

The songs go on for too long, the vocals are pretty bad, and the lyrics are VERY repetitive. Would not recommend. |

Probably the most successful loser of American Idol. Fun fact: One of the members of this band was in Suicidal Tendencies. The music itself is bland and inoffensive as can be. It's just, like, whatever. |

My expectations for this one aren't very high, let me tell you. Wannabe is probably the worst song ever. It's a legitimate fucking contender. It needs to be heard to be believed. |

| 21 Jun 2015: DLC Week 244: Foreigner (done), Nightwish (no) Week 245: The Black Keys (done) Week 246: Rock Band Blitz
All right, so Rock Band Blitz came out on week 246, and it's pretty much a glorified DLC pack because the game is garbage extremely mediocre. Here's the artist list that I've done or am not doing: All-American Rejects (no) Avenged Sevenfold (done) Blink-182 (done) Fall Out Boy (done) Foo Fighters (done) Foster the People (done) fun. (done) Iron Maiden (done) Kelly Clarkson (no) Kool and the Gang (done) Living Colour (done) Maroon 5 (done) My Chemical Romance (done) Pink (no) Queen (done) Quiet Riot (done) Red Hot Chili Peppers (done) Rick Springfield (done) Shinedown (done) Soundgarden (done) Tears for Fears (done)
Today and tomorrow will both be Rock Band Blitz.

I believe the version of Shine they used was a rerecording. Interestingly, in spite of all the master track hullabaloo in GH3, Cult of Personality was the original version.
Shine might just be the most generic example of popular rock music in history. Also, the album is really fucking quiet.
One-trick pony, but the trick isn't even something cool like a loop-de-loop or even pulling a rabbit out of a hat. Scream is the best song here. It's actually different and kind of neat. |

22 Jun 2015: Elton John/"Too Low for Zero" (1983) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2015/04/julio-and-case-of-missing-goats-by-goat.html
Ten years after the latest Elton John album I've listened to. This album features two classics, I'm Still Standing and I Guess That's Why They Call it the Blues. Naturally, it begins with filler rather than either of those songs. |

| 22 Jun 2015: Great White/"... Twice Shy" (1989) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2015/04/julio-and-case-of-missing-awakeness-by.html
The sequel to their 1987 album, Once Bitten. That was not one of my bad jokes. The shortest songs here are both 4:51, so we're in for a riiiiiiiiiiiiiiide.
There is exactly one good song on this album. SPOILER: It's the one you've heard before.
Since this was a pointless album, let's do something fun. Great White's famous song, Once Bitten, Twice Shy, is a cover of an Ian Hunter song. I have never heard the original before in my life. Ian's version is probably better. If it had the guitar solo, I'd say that without hesitation. |

I FUCKING LOVE LINKIN PARK SAID NO ONE WITH TASTE EVER
ON SPOTIFY, THE ALBUM NAME AND TRACK NAMES ARE IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS
To be completely honest, CH3ZD4R is wasted on Linkin Park. Their music is absolute shit. I really hope he does more shit with Stone Temple Pilots, because I like him there. Maybe not as much as Stapp, but he's still pretty nice there.
In an okay world, CH3ZD4R would be with STP full-time, and Stapp would reunite with Velvet Revolver. Third time's the charm, right? In an ideal world, Stapp would get back with STP, and CH3ZD4R would join Velvet Revolver. That would be fucking sweet.
Either way, STP should record a greatest hits-type album with CH3ZD4R on vocals. It would be neat to hear CH3ZD4R singing Plush or Trippin' without crowd noise and in good quality. |
