I felt bad for doing a Fleetwood Mac album over the version that was actually in the game, so I decided to do the opposite here. For real, though, I'd rather get run over by a truck than review Rumours. I will seriously go play in traffic right now if that's what it takes.
Five Feet Under has a really cool guitar part, if nothing else. The best song here is the cover of Go Your Own Way. It's got everything Go Your Own Way needs to not be absolute shit. I like the guitar solo.
All this band needs is a new singer who actually can, then they'd be pretty decent. Unlike most punk rock bands, they've got musical talent. |

Spirit in the Sky is probably the second-best song about Jesus I've heard. Jubilee can go FUCK itself, though.
A very good album with both moments of greatness and moments of "why". |

This album is thirty-six minutes long, and has only four tracks on it. I will not like this.
The first song is a sequel to the last song on the last album. Also, it's eighteen minutes long. Joy. It's actually not bad, but holy shit, it really should have been. The final song is a nine-minute instrumental. It's pretty good, surprisingly.
This album should have been awful, but it wasn't. The Trees is actually the worst song here. A really good album, honestly. |

I really wasn't looking forward to this one. Fortunately, Cool for Cats is the only bad song here. THIS RAISES MY QUESTION
Why do you name your album after its worst song? Why do you make your worst song the big single? Why do people like this garbage? |

The sequel to The Red Album, encompassing the band's career from 1967-1970. Despite including two of the band's worst songs from the period (Strawberry Fields Forever and Across the Universe), this is a pretty decent compilation. They used the single version of Get Back, which is nice. Shame The White Album is under-represented. |

01 Mar 2015: Steely Dan/"Countdown to Ecstasy" (1973) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2014/08/julio-and-case-of-missing-marth-by.html
The album begins with BODHISATTVA which I actually spelled correctly first try somehow ("Ecstasy" wasn't so lucky, going through incorrect spellings such as "Extacy", "Extasy", and "Ecstacy" [It's really not my fault that the English language is so fucked that it is impossible to tell the difference between "cs", "ks", and "x" aurally]). Bodhisattva is an absolutely great song, and was an amazing choice for Rock Band.
This album never hits the high of Bodhisattva again, but it's still pretty great throughout. Much better than I was expecting, especially Razor Boy and King of the World. |

The second track's intro rips off Raining Blood.
Can Testament replace Anthrax or Slayer in the big four? Unlike Anthrax or Slayer, this band is actually good somehow. Metallica, but not. |

Generic Rock Music: Female Edition I like this better than the album I reviewed for GH1, but that's really not saying much. There's nothing special about this. New Kid in School isn't even on this album, what the fuck It's like a Japanese bonus track or some shit. |

This is the last day of RB2's main setlist. Tomorrow, we will start on a few of the bonus songs.
03 Mar 2015: The Grateful Dead/"Go to Heaven" (1980) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2014/08/julio-and-case-of-missing-flag-by-bags.html
In addition to RB2's Alabama Getaway, Don't Ease Me In from this album was later added as DLC. They're the best two tracks on this album, and bookend it.
The second half of this album is better than the first, as Far from Me and Althea are just filler. I was worried for a minute, but it had a definite upswing. If they do another Grateful Dead pack, Feel Like a Stranger should definitely be in it. |

| 03 Mar 2015: The Who/"Tommy" (1969) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2014/08/julio-and-case-of-missing-trainyard-by.html
I don't want any part of this. This album is a classic, and it's on the /mu/ essentials list. Normally, that's enough of a reason for me to review something. However, this album is a double album rock opera about a child without the ability to see, hear, or speak by The Who. Forgive me if I want nothing to do with this.
Overture begins the album. It's mostly instrumental, but it's pretty interesting, against all odds. It's immediately followed by filler. Underture is WAY TOO FUCKING LONG WHOSE FUCKING IDEA WAS IT TO MAKE IT TEN MINUTES LONG
OH BOY NOW TOMMY IS GETTING MOLESTED BY HIS UNCLE THIS IS A GREAT ALBUM
Tommy Can You Hear Me is just really annoying. Smash the Mirror would be pretty good if not for that incredibly annoying "rise" bit.
I really wish Spotify had "accidentally" replaced the last track with the superior We're Not Gonna Take It.
There are some very good songs here (I should say "very good melodies and instrumental parts"), brought down by the ridiculous story. "Overwrought" and "pretentious" don't even begin to describe this album. Should have been a single. Pinball Wizard, that's it. Everything else should have been reworked into NOT FUCKING THIS
Probably the worst album I've ever listened to, but not the worst music I've ever listened to, if that makes sense. |

I'd say that RB2's bonus song selection is better than RB1's, overall. There's nothing as absolutely horrible as I'm so Sick, for one.
04 Mar 2015: Anarchy Club/"The Art of War" (2009) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2014/08/julio-and-case-of-mission-scallions-by.html
Harmonix got the advance scoop on this album, putting one of its songs in RB2 before it even came out. This band, Vagiant, and Bang Camaro got the same treatment in GH2, and we all know about Chinese Democracy.
This is a better album than A Single Drop of Red, but it's still nothing remarkable. Get Clean was the best song here. The final track is some fucking spoken-word manifesto. Fucking wow. |

An extremely odd album. I'm still not sure what I just heard. It's like this huge mix of genres that shouldn't work, but kind of does, most of the time. Rob the Prez-O-Dent is not indicative of this album's music, even though it fits in perfectly. It's weird as shit, basically. |

A Jagged Gorgeous Winter has this great feel to it. It's easily one of the more memorable RB2 bonus songs. It's just a shame that nothing else on the album cared to even try to be as good. Also, on one track, they spell "your" as "yr", so I hate them forever. Naturally, this song would be the second-best on the album if I weren't morally opposed. IT IS NOT A WORD IF IT DOES NOT HAVE VOWELS IN IT Y IS NOT A VOWEL WHEN I MAKES THE "YUH" SOUND AS IN "YELLOW" STOP FUCKING WITH THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE IT'S CONFUSING ENOUGH AS IT IS

I've reviewed the following: Megadeth/"Peace Sells... but Who's Buying?!" (1986) Rush/"Moving Pictures" (1981) Red Hot Chili Peppers/"Blood Sugar Sex Magik" (1991) Motley Crue/"Dr. Feelgood" (1989) Nirvana/"Nevermind" (1991)* Foo Fighters/"The Colour and the Shape" (1997) Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble/"Texas Flood" (1983) Pearl Jam/"Ten" (1991) Guns N' Roses/"Chinese Democracy" (2008) Jane's Addiction/"Nothing's Shocking" (1988) Pearl Jam/"Backspacer" (2009) Megadeth/"Rust in Peace" (1990) The Jimi Hendrix Experience/"Axis: Bold as Love" (1967) Judas Priest/"British Steel" (1980)** Pantera/"The Great Southern Trendkill" (1996) The Jimi Hendrix Experience/"Are You Experienced?" (1967)***
*Missing Endless, Nameless; Come as You Are and Lithium are live versions **Harmonix used shitty live versions ***Presented as "Are You Experienced? Rock Band Edition"; missing loads of tracks, notably Red House
Basically, the only non-Greatest Hits album in added in this timeframe is No Doubt's Tragic Kingdom, which I will continue to not have reviewed once this is over.
SO LET'S GET THIS SHIT STARTED
Week one of RB2 (week forty-two overall) had both Megadeth's Peace Sells album (done), and some sort of MTV pack thing. I've done the Panic! At the Disco album, and today's first review will be another album from that, but the other two are going to remain undone. Week forty-three was the release of Rush's Moving Pictures album, plus singles from The Cult (done), Kasabian (done), The Stone Roses (done), Sleater-Kinney (I'd rather be dead), plus both today's second review and tomorrow's first review. ONWARD

This album has one song ten times. It's like, I get it. You write generic pop songs. There's nothing else to it. |

07 Mar 2015: Hot Hot Heat/"Make Up the Breakdown" (2002) http://musiccouldbebetter.blogspot.com/2014/08/julio-and-case-of-missing-whiskey-drink.html
The first thing that strikes me about this album is that it is bad. They need a singperson that isn't completely awful. He ruins every song, and makes this bordering on awful. As it sits, very mediocre. Would not recommend. |

Rock Band only ever got one George Thorogood song, and it was his most famous. Can't say it's his best, but whatever. The album cover is a striking image of George Thorogood thinking "what's that smell?".
This album has some neat songs, but also some filler. It's a middling album. Miss Luann's opening riff is pretty cool, though. |

Begins with some ambient bullshit filler. Hooray.
The vocals and instruments don't seem to go together at all. It's like a tonedeaf person who's never heard a song before played "match the vocals with the instruments". There is also a cover of Helter Skelter. It's atonal nonsense over generic powerchords.
Absolute garbage. Half a star, not even going to try and justify it. |

Singperson needs to stop smoking. His voice is completely shot. The album would be better if they got a non-smoker to sing. Smokey sounds like he doesn't even care about the music, and REALLY brings it down. Songs like I Wanna Sleep with You have nice instrumental parts, but Smokey just brings it right down with his cancerous voice. Occasionally, there is a good song here, probably in spite of Smokey. It might just be growing on me. The best part of this album is the saxophone, and that alone bumps it up half a point.
Some pretty good songs brought down by a singperson who's smoked fifty packs a day for a century. Better than Blink-182, thankfully. |

I remember not liking the first POTUSA album, but I really like this one. It's really interesting, and doesn't linger in one place for too long. The only sore spot is the last track, Deleter, which has a girl for no reason and the way her and the main guy's voices overlap is really annoying. |
