The boomerang item functions much like you'd expect. You have to manually catch it each time, and the opponent can catch it before getting hit. The power of the throw increases with every successful catch.

This is a new stage for the 3DS version based on New Super Mario Bros. 2. You can collect all the coins in the stage, and if you get enough, you'll transform into Gold _______ (Gold Samus shown). Gold characters basically react like Metal characters.

First up, we've got Mii Fighter.


Frankly, I'm still worried about the online being flooded with Miis. At least they have their own unique movesets that look pretty neat. And I guess facing all those Hitlers will be okay.

Second is Palutena, from Kid Icarus.


She was one of the most expected newcomers, and she looks pretty neat, honestly. Notably, she was the only non-enemy NPC in Brawl's Subspace Emissary. She uses attacks and techniques from Uprising as well as new ones she'd probably do, probably.
Her images seem to confirm Lightning Flash Phosphora as an assist trophy.

During the closed-doors developer roundtable, one veteran and one newcomer were confirmed. Both debuted in 1980.


The newcomer is Pac-Man. Since he's not his creepy-ass Ghostly Adventures redesign, I'm okay with this. He can turn into a ball (think the arcade game), and he has attacks that feature a lot of 2D sprites. He looks neat.

It makes a lot of sense, since Namco is helping develop the game and all.

Here's a look at the Pacman 3DS stage. If you eat 100 pac-dots, a power pellet will appear on your 3DS only. You can eat it to be able to defeat the ghosts, but the other players won't be able to.

Let me see if I can make sense of what just happened.

First, we have Captain Falcon, returning. This is the simple one.


His final smash and other attacks appear to be the same, but I don't get the last screenshot at all.

Next is a newcomer, Robin. He's/She's the main character of Fire Emblem: Awakening.


So, like. Yeah. Chrom, the other main character of Awakening is his/her final smash. I think. Maybe? Who knows?

Finally, we have the bullshit Mary Sue "I'M FROM THE FUTURE" Marth in drag worst character in Fire Emblem: Awakening, Lucina. Tharja's technically worse, but at least she's not forced down your throat.


Look, I have no fucking clue. Should have been fucking Chrom. He's just bland, not fucking horrible in every way. And he's visually distinctive from Marth, and he's actually relevant to the plot of the fucking game, AND he's more popular/requested.
And from what we can see? She's a Marth clone. So not only does she look like Marth, she plays like him, too! Wow! Such a great new character!

What the fuck is a "slot"? There isn't a fucking Smash Wall, where they only have 45 slots to insert character gems. Lucina takes almost zero time and effort, since they ported over Marth's moveset. It's bullshit, but it won't affect anyone else who could have gotten in.

Robin's fine. He/she is completely unique, using mostly magic. He/she is the best possible third Fire Emblem character they could have chosen.
